I've seen that a few times and every time I am just impressed that the officer kept his cool throughout the whole thing. Also, goddamn is that bitches voice annoying
It is a violation of the constitution to force compliance of an illegal command onto a citizen. If rights are never exercised, you lose them. These officers are willingly violating their oath to the law.
Asking for those documents when pulling someone over for speeding is a legal command.
Asking for those documents at a spot check are illegal 90% of the time because spot checks themselves are illegal 90% of the time.
There are very specific rules as to how, where, when, and why a spot check can be done, and they are almost never done even close to protocol.
The police can simply not be allowed to pull over or stop any person and demand identification and compliance whenever and wherever they want. Unless they have reasonable suspicion of a crime, they have no lawful authority to stop and force identification.
The supreme court has ruled that non-compliance when no reasonable suspicion exists does not itself give warrant for reasonable suspicion.
It is a basic question. If you would like certain rights, you have to exercise them because there are always going to be people who want to take them away
m8, if a cop sees you doing something illegal, that can substitute for a warrant.
If a cop watches you shoot a ****** in the face, he ain't gonna go get ******* proper paperwork, he's gonna ******* arrest you. Same deal as this, just not quite as dramatic.
No its not a crime for him because he renounced his citizenship thinking that it would mean he wouldn't have to pay taxes and make him immune to the laws of the land. Seriously we should just deport these people's asses to international waters if they "not citizens of any country"
Even here in liberal Canada, if a cop sees a bottle on your seat, he has all the rightful and lawful reason to search your vehicle. If you have weapon in your seat, he has all the rightful and lawful reason to search your vehicle.
The thing is, the constitutional laws are not a blanket statement; they do not supersede everything and everything. The way that one officer was saying how driving is a privilege and not a right; he's right and that is what makes those laws abide and not the constitution. It's also the reason why the TSA has the right to search you at the airport even if you don't consent to a search. The right to bear arms is not applicable in certain public buildings, etc etc.
The constitution does not apply in any and all scenarios.
Yeah it has to do more with what court you are in that is when they decide what laws are more important, and that is also which one has what penalty too.
because they think they are above the ******* law, and that you can get away with ******** like this, because you can get away with such ******** when you go to your local shop or super market... Problem here is, you are not the king towards the police, you are the ******* peasant, which many idiots don´t ******* get.
Why do these officers seem afraid to confirm that they are being detained. Where i am from an officer can detain you for many reasons, and it is different to being arrested.
Well atleast in my state (New York) the statement "You're being detained" guarantees that you're being arrested, and with that an officer needs to have a reason for arrest, so without the reason, the officer can't officially detain anyone
probably because telling someone they're being taken to jail or detained usually causes some form of backlash by the detainee. So in order to make things easier for themselves they try to avoid mentioning it until it's necessary.
You should get pulled over like these guys and tell police officers. And film it. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll make them feel like they're fools of themselves.
I work as a security guard and have to deal with people like this on smaller scales. People like this piss me off so much. They think they know the damn law and act like they are above the law. They make all forums of law enforcement jobs harder. They brought all this onto themselves. Over the stupidest of things most of the time.
Well for me they are just really short encounters. Can't say much back to them. But it starts just like in the video. Just asking to see if they paid for everything to telling them they aren't aloud in some places. But i think i got one for when i was working at the near by stadium.
>Be me.
>Security for Football Stadium.
>Work in Rubber hall where all the players and cheerleaders locker rooms and stuff is.
>Blocking the only way in from the outside.
>Up comes normal looking man holding a camera.
>Step in front of him and ask where his pass was.
>He starts jumping to you are detaining me and baring me from getting away.
>Plenty of room behind him to take a large leap back if he wanted.
>Tell him he can't go past this point without showing his pass.
>Starts to take pictures of me while going on about freedom of the press.
>Wave to let the other security down the hall to come here.
>Man then tries to force his way through while still taking pictures.
>Other guards rush over and we have a three way tackle on the man.
>The two other guards help drag him away while i follow behind looking through the camera a bit.
>Got in trouble for it. But saw a nice picture of me slamming down onto him with all 6'2 and 320 pounds of muscle and fat.
>Later have to go to court hearing for this.
>Watch as the law comes down hard on him and is put in his place by the real rules of the law.
Now mind you. Security for stadiums is a lot different then retail. But do still share a lot of the same rules. I still work there to this day for three years running. Going onto my fourth in Feb. I still hear talking with some of the press that do get in about that day.
Hi everyone. I know trolling is a huge pastime in internet communities such as this one. But since a lot of humans in the world are stupid nowadays, I encourage you to always think and act intelligently.
For example: If there's a troll that posted bait, do not thumb, hide, and move on. What the **** did you just ******* say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the **** out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my ******* words. You think you can get away with saying that **** to me over the Internet? Think again, ****** . As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You’re ******* dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that’s just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little **** . If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little “clever” comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your ******* tongue. But you couldn’t, you didn’t, and now you’re paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will **** fury all over you and you will drown in it. You’re ******* dead, kiddo.
