I'm awake comfy in my own little bed
I notice that despite the awful weather outside it's lovely and warm in my room. she's put the heating on for me so I don't get cold.
I start linger in my bed for a few moments and I can hear noises coming from downstairs. the tapping of a keyboard.she's on online scrabble again and laughing because she's in the lead. typical!
I can smell the familiar scent of fresh toast and her usual morning coffee. I'm beginning to go downstairs now I can't wait to give her our usual morning hug.
as I continue downstairs I notice something....off...something unusual...
the warmth of the heating has gone as has the scent of toast and coffee, even the gentle hum of our computer has suddenly stop.
I open the door leading to the living room.
cold. empty. silence
it's then that I remember that myself and a small portion of our family had said our final goodbyes to her the day before.
I sit in what used to be her favourite chair and cry.
I miss you mum
