Why I always put points in stealth

 

This is also why I've trained myself to never move until it says "Caution". If I'm hidden I'm safe. Period. Oh and I stream sometimes

@EDIT: By the gods, thanks for the thumbs, favorites and follows. I tend to twitch once a week but can easily change that to 5 times. I usually sit and talk to myself when I play regardless of who's watching, so if someone is bored enough to message me. I'll gladly stream for them!

It can be annoying when immortal people go aggro. Like when I stole that key from the mayor's secretary and the entirety of Diamond city came at me for blood. Especially Nick inside Kellogg's house so I could not progress in the story. Had to just leave the city and come back later on when they had calmed down.

so in your mind you thought that if you go with the institute and kill everyone from brotherhood and danse wont be one of the ppl u have to kill? Or if you go with BoS you magically can leave x6-88 and deacon alive, like they will just stand there watching while you murder their friends. GL with that. Youll have to kill danse anyway if u go with BoS cause hes a synth, or u can keep him if you have high enough charisma, but he will be kicked out of BoS anyway

Deacon showed up at Sanctuary pretty early in my game, hostile, and started to attack me. I put him down because I had no idea who he was, and his body proceeded to warp into terrifying shapes for the rest of the game. He was also too heavy to move.

I don't recall what exactly you have to do, but he can be sent to assassinate you, possibly if the Railroad believes you're a threat. If it was super early in the game, it could have been a bug, that or you got up to evil pretty damn fast.

Some advice to anyone making a stealth build.
Night vision is **** . The perk isn't worth it. Stealth gameplay suffered greatly because of it. Everything is bright as **** .

The perk itself is not that bad. I picked it up just so it wouldn't be so dark. For a stealth play though, it doesn't work.

I steal but certainly not persuasion lol. I typically play stealth, lock pick, pistol, melee. As Cha, and Luk are my dump stats...I kinda regret that now as it means piper won't sex me.

You can ambush deathclaws for... much damage.
Let's say your Deathclaw Gauntlet does 100 damage.
With the ninja perk on lv. 3 you can deal 10 times the normal damage on melee weapons/unarmed on sneak attack.
If you have "better crits" perk on max, crits deals x3.5 times damage instead of the regular 2.0 modifier.
Your Sneak attack of 100 now becomes 100x10x3.5.
100 damage becomes at least 3500 damage.
And deathclaw gauntlet with all related perks will do more than 100 damage.
Insta-kill legendary deathclaws become a very real thing.
Only bad thing about unarmed is that you cannot use it while in Power armor, one of the reasons i went Melee instead of Unarmed.

I haven't seen any duel wielding, dunno if it's because I'm not that far or if it's because it doesn't exist. More likely that it doesn't exist as I'm almost certain Bethesda would've put that on the main serving try of hype right next to jetpack power armor.

You can unarmed effectively, you just have to stat and perk correctly. (As always) There are some great STR and END ways to ensure you can tank and quickly punish. Couple that with VATS and perks like reapers sprint and boom. WIth a single punch you hit every enemy in front of you (As long as their in range and yes even while in vats), You then use Vats to TP to another target, hit everyone with a single hit again (Also each hit can disarm your opponents so be prepared to snatch their **** )... I'm starting to ramble...

TL;DR Yes Unarmed is good, you just have to play smart. No duel wielding though, sorry mate

Ah well. I wander if Bethesda will ever let unarmed be as godly as maxed unarmed in oblivion ever again.

Also you mentioning dump stats and rambling with Fallout reminded me of "lets rant or ramble over Fall Out New Vegas". Might not be interested, but it is a fairly long lets play of New Vegas, that actually had them roleplay as the character for comedy, with occasional breaks of the fourth wall. I think they dump-stated everything except intelligence and charisma and a bit of endurance. They couldn't fight for **** so the had to use explosives and use companions as body guards, up until they reached a high enough level to actually be useful in a fight.

Oddly enough, it had a good sense of character progression, going from and a terrified incompetent, to a numbed fighter in the wasteland, though done comically. It also had some interesting facts and thoughts about different things in the game. Like "why is it after centuries, almost no one has bothered to do any form of cleaning up even in populated areas, or even started just using indoor lighting in the mohave?". If I remember correctly, they briefly joined someone, just because they were the first people smart enough to turn the lights and the fans on.

That's kinda what I do. I like "being" my characters. Kinda why I talk to my companions and every now again I chat at who ever's watching, thus my whole, "Bethesda worked real hard to make this **** scary" line.

Hey, someone who hasnt bought the game yet, do you think an explosives class is viable in FO4? In 3, I'd play on Very Hard and try to use speech, hacking terminals/sentries, and abusing traps to solve my problems before I went into combat. However, once **** hit the fan, I'd have 100 EXPL and four points into explosive damage to back me up. However, without minefield in place, I don't know if I'd want to pull it off.

I was just here and that deathclaw ripped off my character's arm and leg. I was perma-crippled, can't bandage, can't heal from doctors. I had to reload an older save. Feels bad man.

Tried that stealth **** with dogmeat, realized I was in above my head, ****** off back to Pryrden, came back with Power Armor and Paladin Danse and massacred that giant mutated lizard. I've still lost quite a few sets of Power Armor frames to dumb **** though.

I glitched the deathclaw by running into the bathroom around the corner. For some reason he couldn't get in to attack me, so I just stayed in there and opened fire on the asshole while he tore MacCready apart since he was out in the open.
