Funny story, whilst filming Saving Private Ryan the film crew fell back in time to WWII, the whole thing was unscripted and they just happened to catch it on film.

"THAT is filmmaking" ? I mean it's pretty clever but what's so special about it?

its not a film about how many explosions can be shown in an hour and a half, and that you can tell a story AND be historically accurate at the same time.

dont really care either way, but most films seem these days to be, explosion ****** brawl 5 now in 3d.

I'm Czech and I saw the movie and this did not happen.

pulled from a youtuber who actually knew what the **** he was talking about:

They were forcibly conscripted Czech nationals and they were saying: "Nestřílejte. Já jsem nikoho nezabil. Já jsem Čech." which translates into "Don't shoot. I haven't killed anyone. I'm Czech."

not too far from the truth, but eh.

The craziest part about that scene was it wasn't scripted! Those two guys were originally supposed to be German soldiers but they decided on set to change things up.

What's even CRAZIER is that this whole movie wasn't scripted! They started a war and filmed it just to see what happened.

The whole movie was actually unscripted, and it's all live footage of WWII.

Brilliant.

that was such a good movie..

I feel sorry for both sides of the war.. axis and allies
the axis did not want to be there fighting either.. they wanted to go home too, they were scared too. they were forced by their country to fight. and fed lies... so they thought they were defending their country.

The truth is, god is on no side during war. People think war is always good versus bad... all black and white.

When the truth is.. while there is genocide going on by the axis
the allies are raping german civilians. not defending hitler here... not at all.

But after the war, people were the most hateful to the former wermacht prisoners of war. especially on the eastern front. When in reality they wermacht were the ones forced to fight.. while the wafen ss were the ones raping, pillaging, and ********* jews by the hundreds of thousands.

Another expample of how there are no "good guys"
is the hiroshima and nagasaki bombs. They claim US casualties would have been too high if we didn't bomb them. which is not true. the japs were becoming low in numbers, and the united states had planned on invading from the south while the russians were going to invade from the north. a two pronged attack. which would conquer them.. america however. did not want that, we wanted to show the world how big and bad we were.. so we bombed two non military cities, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people.

History is determined by the victors, is it not?

Saving Private Ryan, one of cinemas all time greatest masterpieces and whenever someone talks about WWII films this and Schindler's List are usually the two that come to mind. So what happens when the Academy Awards comes around? Saving Private Ryan loses to this **** .

those weren't actors, they were real people who were told WW3 broke out and that they were being captured

It shows the fact that we killed innocents during the war "accidentally"...
