The bank might as well just use the Guinness.

It was actually because there is a **** ton of iron in Guinness and it was good for you after giving away a pint of the red stuff. I'm quite sad they stopped this but at least I still get a free lunch for donating.

DONATE ALL THE BLOOD.

This was true a few years ago. They stopped it due to people driving home after drinking I believe. Now they give you a bag of tatyo, and a cup of tea/coffee/coke

guinness used to be stored in huge iron vats and the iron seeped into the guinness. hence the cachphrase, "guinness gives you strenght".
they used to give guinness after giving blood because it was high in iron.

Actually, Guiness used to be a health-drink. Their slogan for a long time was "it's good for you" cuz it actually was, hospitals used to prescribe it, especially if you had had major surgery. It's high in iron, which is why it may have been given after giving blood. However, due to EU health laws it's now 100% unhealthy, which just goes to show the wonders of Health and Safety.

Return the flavour? I do believe that the word "favour" is correctly used here...
