When you're bored

There's also a $1 Coin but its not very popular in circulation meaning not very many banks hold them argo making it harder to find; But it does guarantee absolute confusion towards the cashier which should be very nice.
Edit: Exist*

Just letting you know that bills exsist and not many
people know about them. Most banks usually carry them
but never use them and its pretty funny to see some young
cashiers call the police for paying with "fake" money.

My dad got me this for Christmas a few years back, custom made. There's a story behind it but I don't feel like telling it.

it wasn't to interesting but okay..

Quite a few years back I was in either 5th or 6th grade and my dad was going through this little safe where he keeps his important papers and he found a 2 dollar bill with a little red mark on it and a piece of the end ripped that he got from a teller about 15 years before this at a bank
when the teller saw the rip they went to put it back because they aren't allowed to have damaged bills and my dad thinking it was cool and liked that it was ripped asked for it anyway.
It was something special to him and a few weeks (maybe a few months later) my dad had back surgery (Caused by his job) and it put him out of work for a few years.. during that time my dad and step mom had little money to spare and seeing that he had no money other then this 2 dollar bill he gave it to me to spend on lunch at school ,I could see the sadness in his face when he handed it to me I think it was just the symbolism of not being able to provide and giving up something he really enjoyed that got to him. So I had the great idea that ,"yah know my dad really liked this particular 2 dollar bill ,I'm going to skip eating today and save it for him" this was in like mid june right around this time actually about 6 years ago. (I just graduated highschool) so I saved it for months until Christmas and wrapped it up in this DS case after I took out the cover and the game, I didn't want to show my step mom cause she knew he liked that 2 dollar bill ,and I took some wrapping paper and on christmas it was the first thing he opened and he started to cry a little. (it was a hard time in his life..he's kinda sensitive anyway) the next year my dad got me this custom made and it was the best gift I had ever gotten.

SlowpokeForever , gameshredder and , gokusdog

I edited something..sorry if it's a boring read.

These are actually going back into full circulation due to the single dollar becoming so worthless. When's the last time you seen a bag of chips that wasn't $1.09 or some bull **** . Since everything always adds up to above a buck due to tax or other garbage, $2 bills will soon be more common than singles.

FUN FACT ************* :
Strip clubs will give you change in $2 bills if you buy a drink/need change and end up needing more than 2 bucks. They even load the atm's with them.

This is to encourage higher tipping when you tip the dancers/bartenders. You can't just toss out one dollar at a time. You have to toss out two at a time.

Why does America go through the trouble of having $1 bills? Coins just make single digit money so much easier.

you can't stuff coins into hooker's panties.

the only reason we dont see 2 dollar bills much is because people freak out over them thinking they dont make them anymore and hoarding them. someone showed me one that "was at least from like the 60's" and it was dated 2008.

so yeah, they still make them, people just hoard them.

Two dollar bills are still in print, the last run I'm aware of was 2013. They're curious, but generally worth only face value unless they're older than 1956. The really valuable ones are from the early 1900s, and "red seal" $2 notes are also worth a bit more than face value (pre 1964 bills).

The note to the left is a red seal, but it is also a "star note" the star symbol in the first position of the serial number indicates that the original bill was damaged during production and was removed from the line and replaced with a pre-printed star note. Star notes still exist today and can be even be found on the new $100 bill.

At my state fair, there is a race track where you can bid on horses. If you over pay and you need change, they will always give you your change in $2 bills if they have any (which they usually do).
