uhhh actually there are tons of companies in the US that will actually fire you if you don't ask a customer if they need help finding something...or do you actually think those employees just really really like to be annoying as ****? It's like that all over the world...including the US. That's why it's a common joke that the one time you need one there is never one, otherwise the joke wouldn't make sense.

He had a ceiling tile on the bottom of his chair. So he retracted up so that his body was in the space between the floors and the tile lined up with the ceiling.

person who works in retail, sorry it's our job, my boss about a month ago told me that whenever we're close to a person we ask if them how they are doing, it shows that we're there for help, and it also deters the chances of shoplifting because we're paying attention. Most of the time I work in truck and not on sales floor but yeah that's how it works...

if i did that where i work i'd probably get yelled at 10 hours straight. the guys i'm working with are too helpy. someone that's just looking get asked atleast 3 times, which i know is irritating for the customer
