this rustles me more than a feminism post
books vs. tv is the most retarded debate
enjoying a movies does not make you fat, nor lazy, nor stupid, nor handicapped like that picture shows
films can be a million times better than a book, a book can be a million times better than a film
movies can offer you things that books cant: good acting, more points of view, soundtracks and so on. Movies give a face to the faceless book.
just read books and watch movies and enjoy both of those things without focusing on one part and calling the other retarded
inb4 some retard compares a good written book to a poorly produced movie
inb4 you shouldnt get everything handed to you on a silver platter

Damn it people! This isn't a book vs TV satire, this is a metaphor on hard work, vs lazy ignorance.

I disagree, here's why.

I've learned more from documentaries than I have from books.
Also, the more senses you engage the faster someone can learn something, so using vision AND hearing instead of just vision allows you to absorb information faster. Seeing something allows you to learn much faster than having it described to you.

Example.
The picture on the left is of Leonardo DiCaprio. He is standing in what appears to be in an office setting, his arms are spread wide. He is wearing a black suit with a light blue undershirt, a red tie, and he has his hair styled. There are out of focus hands and arms clapping in the foreground, in the background there is a window with vertical blinds. There is a caption of "I'm gonna host my own academy awards with blackjack and hookers" overlayed on the picture.

Alternatively, look at the picture. See how much faster that was?

While not all television programs are educational, neither are all books. You're going to tell me that Twilight is educational? Give me a break.

While it is said that this picture is not a Books VS. TV satire, that is the message that is readily apparent from looking at it.
This is the message the artist portrays, if it was intended to be anything else, the artist is doing a very poor job of clearly expressing their thoughts.

That's only the point of view of the person climbing. I've had some "books vs movies" debates and usually people who mostly read books, rather than watch movies tend to feel superior to other people, when in truth they're being retarded.

A good movie can be worth a thousand books.

Are you people retarded? This isn't books VS T.V., and I'm ashamed of you all for looking at as such, and then getting upset because you feel insulted. Look at comment #22.

hurr durr electronics are making people stupid (which doesn't make sense if you have more than 2 brain cells because the average IQ of westerners today, adjusted for deflation, is monumentally higher than even the smartest philosophers of authors in the past)

Yeah, I'm sure you'd love to go back in time before electronics were invented and die of polio you ****

nobody gives a **** if you read books or not, just worry about yourself for ****** sake

and "intellectuals" wonder why nobody wants to be around them

There is no greater feeling than when you reach the top though. Keep pushing.

I was writing a novel once, and it was a lot of hard work. So I stopped writing it, but then I picked it back up and started again. I still am writing it.
