but paper always beats rock?
#9 to #3 - nagafever (11/05/2015) [-]
**nagafever used "*roll picture*"**
**nagafever rolled image** U-huh, try catching a rock with a sheet of paper dont mind me just being a cunt
#20 to #9 - gruntmastr (11/05/2015) [-]
If the paper is thick enough it'll stop the rock
#51 to #20 - brahdin (11/05/2015) [-]
if the rock is molten hot however, it can simply envelop and burn the paper away.
#56 to #51 - gruntmastr (11/05/2015) [-]
Not if you use enough to cool it back down to rock
#69 to #56 - jordanmcpyramid (11/06/2015) [-]
the paper is going to catch on fire if the rock is molten
User avatar #70 to #69 - seferofe (11/06/2015) [-]
Smother it with more paper so there's no air.
#71 to #70 - jordanmcpyramid (11/06/2015) [-]
i think to actually see this working to believe it because in my mind its a massive fire getting more paper thrown on it
User avatar #72 to #71 - seferofe (11/06/2015) [-]
Well if you throw enough paper around the entire fire. Then no air can get to the fire, snuffing it out.
Though the amount of paper needed would be immense.
#75 to #72 - jordanmcpyramid (11/06/2015) [-]
lets use this
User avatar #96 to #69 - ryderjbudde (11/06/2015) [-]
Wet paper.

What you guys are looking for would be wet paper. Like a stack of papers that are wet. But also if paper is thick enough it could damage the scissors. And if the paper is massive and dense enough it could form a black hole. Then paper beats everything.

You fool.

maybe its a small rock, like a pebble?
User avatar #24 to #3 - horsecrab (11/05/2015) [-]
It never beats it, merely contains it. The rock is unharmed. It simply waits, biding its time. Gathering power. The paper will waste away in the rain, wind and sun, but the rock will remain for centuries.

Those who think paper beats rock are fools.
User avatar #44 to #24 - stifflimb (11/05/2015) [-]
Those who think anything beats anything are fools, everything is fundamentally made up of the same particles, energy cannot be destroyed just changed, so nothing beats nothing, your childhood is a lie.
SEE this is what happens if you take things seriously, everything fun is taken out
#67 to #24 - anon (11/05/2015) [-]
Scissors cuts paper, now there are 2 pieces of paper. GG
User avatar #50 to #24 - ZenMacros (11/05/2015) [-]
Nope. Paper beats Rock, just not instantaneously. Paper covers Rock, suffocating it until it is no more.
User avatar #52 to #50 - alucardexplain (11/05/2015) [-]
How do you suffocate a rock? Its a rock.

If anybody is interested to know the strengh's of the six tornado EF categories.
User avatar #54 to #33 - saltyfries (11/05/2015) [-]
hasn't there been some tornadoes that surpassed the strength of an F5?
User avatar #61 to #54 - xchewsifferx (11/05/2015) [-]
Nope, F5 was the highest ever recorded. which constituted wind speeds between 261-318 mph. Now they use the EF "enhanced fujita" rating scale, which classifies anything 200+ mph an EF-5.

The highest wind speeds ever recorded on earth were observed during the 1999 tornado that hit Moore, Oklahoma
User avatar #62 to #61 - saltyfries (11/05/2015) [-]
poor Moore, they've been hit like 5 times or something since 1999 with EF5's
User avatar #63 to #62 - xchewsifferx (11/05/2015) [-]
Yeah, unfortunately they get hit semi-frequently, and they almost always get hit hard

Every time i drive to Oklahoma city I pass by the spot where an entire outlet mall used to be, but the tornado hit it so hard that there was LITERALLY only the concrete foundation left. Now the foundation just kinda sits there and acts as a reminder.
#97 to #63 - fluffagus (11/08/2015) [-]
A grim reminder.....We live in fear of the wind...
User avatar #73 to #54 - lovot (11/06/2015) [-]
Nope, an F5 is 200mph+, the + is important because no matter how much the wind speeds exceed 200mph it's still labelled as an F5.
User avatar #98 to #73 - xchewsifferx (11/08/2015) [-]
F5 is 261-318 mph.

An EF-5 is 200+
User avatar #65 to #54 - elsanna (11/05/2015) [-]
To make it sound significant, the tornado in Life is Strange was labeled an F6
#66 to #33 - twistingtornado (11/05/2015) [-]
Actually, that's the old Fujita scale (F-scale). This is the EF scale which the United States began using February 1st, 2007. Essentially the wind speeds were corrected to better match structural damage (with the addition of degrees of damage for the surveyor to get a better since of what wind speed causes what damage) and no limit was set on the maximum strength of an EF5. This is because once one gets wind speeds above 200 mph, there aren't many structures that will depict the difference between a 205 mph vortex and a 400 mph vortex hitting the structure.

As someone working in the concrete industry, it pains me greatly when people refer to concrete as "cement"
#48 to #22 - anon (11/05/2015) [-]
Difference?
#55 to #48 - jackleeswagger (11/05/2015) [-]
Cement is a powdered substance, used as the binding agent in concrete. While it will get hard (with the addition of water,) the strength of the concrete itself is mostly determined by the gravel or other rock or sturdy compound put in as an aggregate. There are many different types of concrete that have many different uses and functions, most if not all involving at least a little cement. However other filler binding agents are also used like ash and Slag( the rock part of metal ores .) No some of this information was not necessary, just thought u may be interested.
User avatar #49 to #48 - SylverSlayer ONLINE (11/05/2015) [-]
cement is the compound you mix with sand and water to make concrete
idk what would happened if you just mixed cement and water without sand, but it wouldnt look pretty

I've been living here for 4 years now, and other than main attractions that you can get from any other state, I'd say that Oklahoma values their football a lot. That's all the unique entertaining stuff that I can really say about this state.

However, if you believe in ghosts...

When i was a kid i begged my mum for a pet so she got me one of those novelty pet rocks.
I genuinely thought it was alive and i took it everywhere. I even tried to dress it up.
I really pissed my brother off for something so he took my rock and wrapped it in paper, saying he'd suffocated it
I cried so much and buried it in the garden
