did not stop for the lady in at the crosswalk in the end
or is it only where Im from that you must stop at crosswalks and let the pedestrians, waiting to cross, pass?
Are you Australian? Because in Australia if you have a zebra crossing like that then you have to give way to pedestrians and we don't have traffic lights before zebra crossings.
I'm Danish but we have the same concept at many zebra crossings, especially in streets similar to the one in the video, where pedestrians always have the right of passage
This is almost exactly like the fake "spoilers" that cropped up before New Vegas was released. Something about the Platinum Chip being the key to nuking Vegas.
You got nothing to worry about, son.
I love driving cars, and these autonomous vehicles will make that so much better.
How? With regular cars being made to be driven by computers, there will have to be special cars for human drivers. And these human driver vehicles will have to be super special since the places you can use them will be limited. Basically cars that DON'T drive themselves will become rare, and will be awesome (think Ferrari and **** ).
People will want to buy these cars, but only the people for whom driving themselves is important, or race drivers, you can guess. These cars will have to be profitable, and maybe, just maybe, we'll see some affordable supercars so the regular Joe will be enticed into buying one.
Honestly, i would never trust it in the city, but I really cant wait until I can go the highway and just read a book or something for the 20 minute trip.
The google one has had only 1 accident so far I think. At least the only ones it has had, has been from other cars rear-ending it. They're very reliable so far.
It was more than that, but it was never the car's fault other people have always been the cause of the accident. There was one time actually, but it was when the guy driving it had the autopilot turned off and he ran into a pole or something.
yep.
but if we make a perfect system using automated cars we do not need them to be any smarter.
the ai right now is basically watch for things in front of it and follow the lines.
hmm ive got a feeling specific people will want ai to be more sophisticated for future applications. so the cars would have the capacity to drive in almost any condition with a high survival rate; snow, ice, mud, lava at high speed
but yeah regular cars will prob be limited to regular car smart
well ye,
the ai would evolve so it can handy all weather, across country stuff and complex movements.
like imagine an intersect of 8 lanes crossing another 8 lanes and every single car is an autocar,
none of them would need to slow down or anything because they can communicate to each other
and perfectly time it.
once we get to that level we have no more need of more ai so that would be the golden
age of autocars and when we would stop driving manually at all.
personally i love this idea, it is safer, faster and pretty cool, cars can have more luxury built
in because of the safer aspect and no longer needing a driver part.
sports and industry i can imagine being a bit different...
but imagine a massive gauntlet track full of traps and a load of cars and trucks with unique
weapons and styles all racing to the finish, legal because of no humans, like robot wars meets
death race.
that would be tight.
