Admin, you only say this because you've only ever been around black and western women, and you think the others would actually like you if you met them.
Oh look, a self-dissatisfied Spaniard. How does it feel trying to leech off of your ancestor's collective accomplishments to distract yourself from your own insignificance?
However you might see that that woman is white, as a matter of fact it does represent what was supposed to be an ideal spanish woman, being more specific a southern spanish woman. However wrong that representation may be.
And hispanic does mean spanish as well as the people of south america that live in the area once conquered by Spain. Un macho hispano= un macho español.
But you are right, Spain is in the west.
Hispanic is the Spanglophone territories SPECIFICALLY in the Americas. Are the Philippines, Micronesia and Palau considered Hispanic because they were owned by Spain? no
In short
Mexicans=Hispanics
Cubans=Hispanics
Chileans=Hispanics
Spanish=Spanish. Not Hispanic.
Micronesians=Not Hispanic.
That may be "officially" true but you'll find Hispanic community divided on that. Like I said, the aforementioned Asian countries could be considered Hispanic technically, but it's a fallacy in effect. The Hispanic community considers Spanish people European, as they are part of the EU. Of course, we come from them and we welcome their legacy, but do not consider them Hispanic per se.
You insist on talking about asian countries when i never even mentioned them.
Saying that Spain isn't part of the hispanic community is like saying that England isn't part of the anglosphere, kind of silly. Hispanic refers to those that come from Hispania, as such, spanish people have a much better claim to being Hispanic than sanybody else excluding portuguese. Being european and hispanic isn't exclusive, just like being french and european isn't exclusive.
Please, show me data that confirmswhat you, if not it is impossible for me to consider what you say as nothing more than an opinion instead of a fact.
If I'm being frank your evidence is overwhelmingly against me, but again, I'm only stating my own dissidence, using the Micronesian, Palauan, and Phillipine dichotomy in my case.
I'm referring to the official definition of Hispanic where a Hispanic is someone of Spanish culture or descent, that's my point on the Asian countries.
The Anglosphere is irrelevant because it refers to the English-speaking world as a whole. Spain, Micronesia, and South America would all be part of the Spanglophere and the Spanish-speaking world, or the Francosphere would encompass the French-speakign world.
My argument is that the Hispanic community is a unique community founded on the legacy of Spanish colonizers and the Spanish empire, but independent from Spain itself. I already acknowledged the "official" definition of Hispanic and I'm stating my and part of the Hispanic community's dissidence. It is an opinion, I'm making an argument based completely in pathos and on my own experiences as a hispanic.
What? I can't have my own opinion and argue it? What? So like **** the kurds because their definition of a nation doesn't agree with current sovereign borders?
I am saying that i have nothing to gain from this conversation, you have one argument and the rest is just opinion, and your own argument could be used to argue, that if those countries arent hispanic we might be able to restrict the meaning, which leads us to saying that only people from Hispania are hispanic, so only spaniards and portuguese, which it isn't. I find an informed opinion useful, but you give no good arguments, and this isn't even an important issue. Hispanic is what it is.
You can argue your opinion, but you arent doing so.
Exactly, classical geography is cool and all, but the archaic definition of "Hispanic" (Someone from Hispania) has evolved. Just like the French are no longer Gauls, in fact, nobody is a Gaul.
My argument is based on cultural trends. Spanish culture itself is very divided and complicated because a Catalan might not even identify as Spanish. Hispanics are a culture with the following distinguishing features:
-They are former colonies of the Spanish Empire.
-They reside in the regions of the Caribbean, Central, and South America.
-They are Spanglophone - ugh i give up, here, have a pepe
Hispania is the old way of saying Spain, spain isn't a new word to designate the area, just like urine is not called ouron anymore but the word still refers to the same thing.
Saying Hispanic instead of spaniard isn't common anymore. And i don't know why we are having this conversation in english, when it would make more sense in english.
I'm from badalona, Catalonia.
No, sorry, Hispania was a region of Western Europe where CURRENT Spain lies. Spain IS the new word to designate the area, it is the combination of all the kingdoms that were given to the region when it was united by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella in 1492.
We don't call the French and Belgians Gauls because Gaul is an outdated term and idea. Gaul WAS an archaic geographical term. Hispania is an outdated geographical term. Exactly, people don't say "that spanish man is hispanic" they say he's a spaniard. I think the strength in Hispanic comes from the unification of the caribbean and american cultures. Being Hispanic is a culture much like Latino, it is being descended from our Spanish ex-rulers.
I'm Cuban-Amerrican, born in Havana. My Spanish is conversational but not strong.
It's not equal, but one is contained in the other, in particular hispanic includes spanish, obviously, considering its the origin of such culture. And considering he had to choose one single flag for each group, as he did with the rest, Spain was probably the right choice.
Hispanic was once used to describe all Spanish-speaking countries, including Spain, but nowadays it is used used mainly for the countries that have shared a history or culture with Spain, i.e. the Central and South Americas.
Slav here and I personally find South Slav women to be incredibly attractive. I've spent some time in Croatia and Bosnia and I'd fall in love every second day.
I've seen hispanic women with manlier sideburns and forearm hair than Ron Swanson, and you've no guarantee that Arab woman doesn't resemble the Werewolf Lady underneath that sleeping bag she's wearing.
I think this whole comment section can be summed up as "These women don't look like the women around me so you're wrong." On a slightly related topic, I went out with a chick who was pretty into the whole master race thing even though I'm hispanic and it never came up, even when I hung out at her house when her like minded parents were home. We ended up splitting up because I had to move for work. **** was kinda weird.
I don't shut up about Donetsk because it's my hometown so you would not shut up about a place in your country that was taken from you. You are just insensitive unless she's russian then FDB
nah man, i went to the same high school as it. Apparently she and her family is super religious and her family chose 3 men which she could pick one of, to be her husband. poor guy
I'm from Spain, puto.
Last summer went on vacation to London, waiter in a bar asked us where we from, tell him from Spain, adn do you know what he said? That he really liked South America last time he travelled there.
that **** piss me off, **** , we are relevant too ;_;
Hmm, have we met before? www.funnyjunk.com/Introverts/funny-pictures/5581498/53#53
Now that we are at it, why do you refer to yourself as 'East German'? Are the West and the East still with the socio-cultural differences from, you know, that thing you all had with the Berlin Wall?
well yes despite the wall coming own there are still differences between east and west
the east are more reserved and quiet while west are loud and arrogent
