I was going to not give them clickbait, but since you wanted it, make sure adblock is on before you go.

it's also the "hot topic" on the front page

"Proof modern men are sexist"
provides proof females have existed in the past

I don't... understand... this

I don't see the problem. It's showing how women had roles in the past that are currently, and stereotypically, thought to be male only roles, and how the people who made these discoveries we confused because they were socialized to think that women never participated in such roles.

Before this article I never knew women were gladiators, I didn't know there were women samurai, and I assumed the Vikings left their wives at home when they went to war. It is true that all of these things do not prove that modern men are sexist (which is just a buzzword they are using to attract viewers), but a lot of society is definitely ignorant about women's roles in history.

As for Cracked being click bait; no site in this world will survive unless it is click bait. They have to use buzzwords, striking headlines, and odd images. What I can tell you it is apparent that the author of an article rarely writes the title of the article. Cracked probably employs someone to specifically word the titles of articles to be relevant and eye catching; even if they have to take some liberty with the true intentions of the article.

Overall, of all the click bait "news" sites Cracked is by far my favorite and I have never learned so much while laughing so hard.

Frankly I don't think you read the article.

"To sum it up the dumbasses believe being a gladiator (as in a slave) is a good thing, since it empowers women."

The whole point of the Gladiator portion is to point out that not every gladiator was a slave, some were soldiers, some were even politicians, and Cracked didn't give any opinion on whether being a gladiator was good or bad. They informed people that there were women gladiators and that, upon discovery, modern men could not grasp that idea because we were led to believe that no women participated in gladiator combat via socialization.

Proof that the authors don't write the titles.

"5 badass facts about women that history books leave out"

This was probably the original title written by the author and then the click bait specialist got to changing it to attract attention.

If you ignore the displayed title your argument literally has no merit; the displayed title which the author had no intention of using in the first place.

A fair amount of the people at cracked have taken swigs of the SJW kool-aid as of late. Best to ignore them
