A character-centric comedy about an unfortunately friendly demon and the apathetic highschooler he's supposed to be haunting. Originally created in May of 2013 by Erica Wester for a senior graduation animation project at the Kansas City Art Institute.
Pics of what? How would posting a picture prove anything? You don't know what I look like. She lives in California while me and her sister live in Missouri.
pics of all 3 of you together so that we can verify ourselves that you're not lying to us therefore we can actually trust the internet for once. Just because it says so on the internet doesn't mean it's true.
There's no verifiable way to prove that I am who I say I am. Sure, I could pull a picture from her Facebook from years ago when the three of us hung out regularly. But again, how in the hell would you know that the person in the picture is me?
You don't want to believe me? Great. That's your problem.
I understand that anyone can go on the internet and claim all sorts of things about themselves without proof, but I'm not going to go out of my way to find a picture of the three of us and post it on a public forum.
If that causes you to not believe me, whatever. I don't care. I'm not going to continue defending against your accusations.
fine fine, cuz I know the feeling, I'm a complete tech tard and I don't have a smartphone to easily upload camera shots or whatnot, not even with old digital cameras, so I can't really update what I look like either properly.
2 things, 1 it would validate that he's telling the truth, if the artist has a picture profile and he has a picture of all 3 people including him, then he's right. #2 is the fact that it's an old joke, "pics or didn't happen".
She has a comic on her deviant art but it dosnt go any further then this. in fact its only the opening in comic form i believe. She has more characters that she didnt get to put into the film. She also has a blog welcometohellfilm.tumblr.com/ yes its on tumblr suck it up.
Erica here. For the record I hate tumblr's layout too. Every update is like they had their programmers smack the keyboard with a dildo and call it a day. FJ's still an eyesore tho, I stand by that!
Eh, I personally quite like FJ's layout, it feels fluid and easy-to-understand. Tumblr, on the other hand, is just weird. Not as bad as reddit's design, but weird. website preferences aside, your video was pretty great.
"This cartoon is also about a fukboi from what I can gather, just not a trans one."
THIS cartoon is ALSO...
That was the comment I was replying to.
He was talking about the cartoon in the op being trans, or dressing like a girl despite being called "Mr." by the devil.
For the love of all things cancer-free do not Google it... It's not worth the curiosity - you'd be better off snorting artificial sweetener off a barrel of radioactive waste.
You don't want to know. I know, and now I don't want to know. So don't Google it.
So a red headed tranny, lulz-so-randum-azn, bad black poet, and random violent white dude walk into a poorly animted cartoon... there is no punchline because this isn't a joke. Just a very bad cash grab.
One of their biggest thing about this show is that the lead actress is a transgender, so yeah. Says alot about the quality of the show that they have to outline that aspect to sell it.
Transgender is essentially believing one is male if actually female or female if actually male right?
But still, that show sounds like something a stereotypical board meeting would come up with.
GenZed is ******* hilarious
>A comedy
>Written by tumblr
>With nothing but token characters
>That responds to constructive criticism with "Don't watch it"
>And whose video got taken off of YouTube for scamming ******* classic
I just looked it up now. It's poorly animated, unfunny, edgy, cringy and down right pants on the head retarded. For the love of all that is good, I hope this **** stain doesn't leak out into the real world.
******* hell. I just watched the trailer and it screams "Tumblr" and "SJW" Surprise! The only lead role we name is the trans one Surprise, the white cis man is the psychp And the ****** is culturized, yet lonely. ******* hell man.
and the worst of all. THE. ******* . ANIMATION.
Bruh, I know animators have different "styles" but this just looks ******* incomplete and lacking. Like, at least if your drawings are terrible, you should have a fluid decent animation, right? But no. Even South Park is much more fluid than this.
You're not really helping his case by calling him a ****** . I mean, it's **** , but a lot of you people ******** it do sound like actual racists and like you hate trans people.
My hope is that Gen Zed will be a massive flop and we can all laugh at it hartily, but I know that some ******** progressive media is gunna do all they can to shill it out and prop it up.
All so that some scumbag can make money from T-shirts.
The worst part to me is the entire premise isn't bad. IT'S THE FACT THEY SHOVE IT IN YOUR FACE, DO YOU SEE HOW PROGRESSIVE WE ARE, HAHA, TRANS VOICE ACTRESS. It's littered with HA-HA pop-culture references, mediocre voice acting, ****** animation, and the writing of a bunch of whipped writers in a dungeon that has to make something vaguely like humor or they'll watch their families get murdered. I have nothing against LGBT people, but a bad show is a bad show.
i have thought something like this would be awesome for years. i mean come on, the after life has got to be ******* crowded with how many we are now. surely they would need some middle management and recruit new reapers. "dead like me" was sort of close but it just ****** it up to much. and here we have this, a cute and funny concept that looks ans sounds appealing but noooo, the masses must be socially enlightened by the holy manuscript of Gen Zed.
And thats not the issue, never was or will be. So that char wants to be a chick and wears a skirt, alright. Its the SJW bs what is the issue. They cramp into everything or try to. Why does it matter that some trans voices some char in gen zed? Why do i care? Why would i care? What makes that so important that i need to be informed about it straight off the bat? What makes the difference? Isnt that just another human? Or is he\she better then others cause she(he?) isnt cis gendered? How would that change the char to something interresting or is the voice actor for some reason better that way? Thats the **** i cant swallow. Stupid example.. but for example in the metal gear universe there is a guy named vamp. A total ******* badass and pretty much my favourite villian of the series. I just love how he talks, his backstory and actions, heck even the way he moves and the menancing feel he gives off, i love pretty much his overall design. He is a bisexual, with nanomachines enchanced to have regeneration powers like a vampire, he runs on water and walls and fights with throwing knives and a combat knive. He got most likely the most badass knife fight ever in the series (in my opinion of course) and guess what? Mr. Kojima wasnt like "uhhh guys look how empowering that guy is, he isnt straight!!! OMG just look at this!"
We are in 2015 for ***** sake, your gender doesnt matter, your sexuality doesnt matter, its you who matters (or the character whatever) and what you do matters too. If you are a lesbian gym trainer or a gay teacher or a transexual voice actor isnt important. Important is if you are a good gym trainer, a good teacher or a good voice actor. The sexuality\gender never should be the defining thing about you. Or be rubbed into peoples faces like this would be the most epic stuff ever. Also race doesnt matter while we are at it, its what you do and how you do it.
Also the show looks **** and from what i was able to collect myself its painfull to watch. That vid here on the other hand got charm and i found myself smiling all the way through cause its just adorable and i totally would watch a show like that anytime.
Exactly. Welcome to hell and gen-zed are perfect examples of the right and wrong way to take on progressive values.
One show is fun, high quality, and the story's interesting, and I just found out one of the main characters is trans. It wasn't what defined her, it's just part of who she is.
This on the other hand, looks low quality and the characters are cardboard cut-outs. But oh, we have a trans character, so it's good.
You know, I just realized that Sock is a guy. Out of the 4-5 times I've watched this video I always assumed he was a girl, it kind of made it better that way.
I noticed that too. Made me kind of feel a little put off since I relate the sounds to said games. Not exactly fun watching an animation and suddenly getting distracted through remembering stuff about TF2. Bit of a bad move on their part but sometimes making sounds that are original or finding some online can be a "pain". I'm sure they just wanted to finish up this project so getting sounds that are more fitting wasn't high in priorities. I only say that they probably wanted to finish it because the whole thing looks like a unanimated bonus feature from a pixar movie.
This video is literally just proof of concept. The fact that they put as much effort in to it as they did is already flabbergasting. They're not gonna go out and make/buy sounds for it too.
I think the theoretical cartoon series of this would be better if Sock was a female.
Probably because the voice role was female, so that's stuck in my head now...
And that Sock has the Hey Arnold shirt / kilt / dress thing going on, with the purple "skirt" under the vest.
... But, I'm sure that tumblr tards would have a field day proclaiming that this series encourages murder, and is perverted, or some such **** .
Because we can't have nice things.

If Jon were to kill himself when he gets old and repent beforehand, then it'd be a win/win. Sock wouldn't be tortured assuming that's what he meant by "fired" by Mephisto, and Jon would get to live a long life and probably wouldn't go to Hell. This looks pretty good, and I've seen worse get picked up by networks.
Okay this animation was series-worthy, but seriously that character needs to be changed to a girl. I keep seeing a girl talking, I keep hearing a girl talking, yet it's continuously referred to as a "he".
The hat makes him look like he has floppy poodle ears, the face doesn't look the slightest bit masculine, the pear-shaped body looks pretty feminine, and the purple shirt/skirt at the bottom really adds to the effect. Not to mention he shakes his butt in a weird dance like a girl.
Again, I'm not bashing. The animation was fantastic, just... the character made me have to keep pausing and reminding myself that this is a male character we're following here.
correction: i remember reading from the person who made the short/ the owner of the account in which it was originally posted that he was gay and interested in the guy , he/she/idunno said so in a reply to a comment someone posted about how it would be better if the demon was changed into a girl and it escalated into a somewhat angry discussion and by angry i mean alot of people writing in caps how he was homophobic for not liking the design of the character my english is not that good sorry if something got messed up
So a well written and stylish show gets no hype while Gen ******* ZED which puts no effort into anything, generally has lower production values than a student thesis film is getting actually made.
This was a school project though, not intending to actually launch, and probably wasn't even presented to any producers. I bet FX or adultswim would have picked it up though
