I love the amount of people arguing whether it is football or soccer. Let me put it simply, a country that has it's own nation sport, like Australian Football, or American Football, has another sport that is called football, so they call it soccer. A country that doesn't have it's own national sport, England, Spain, calls it football because they don't have another sport by that name. It's just that simple.
