How do you guys cope with the knowledge that we're all going to die, and there's nothing we can do about it? Do you believe in an afterlife? This **** has always bothered me.
Why worry about something you can't control? And when it finally happens we will be able to answer that question of "what happens?" So just go with the flow, make yourself and other happy along the way, and just relax.
My belief is basically this: we are here to gather knowledge. If we get the knowledge we needed, we transcend to the next place. If not, we basically respawn, but completely new, so we can go through without bias. Some people have less of a wall separating them from their previous consciousness, and they are "old souls." The wise kids that are like 6 and give the most sound advice.
Hey, man. We're all going to die eventually. We've got to make a mark and have as much fun in our lives as possible. Even if you're suffering from overwealming odds, you've got to find a way to live. There's a difference between being alive and living.
I don't want to wake up early in the morning and go to a ****** job that I hate to earn a crappy paycheck that's hardly worth my soul. I'd rather have a lower paying job doing something I love than a high paying job doing something I Hate.
Anyway, I do believe in an afterlife. I was raised as a Christian and while I may not agree with many of their rules now, I still consider myself a loose Christian. I believe in God, but I also believe that Science can help us explain the universe as a whole.
I sort of believe that everyone has a personalized heaven. I don't like to think about there being a Hell, for the bad people. It'd just be a place where they exist in their own world. Being able to do whatever they like. Having full power over it. Stuff like that.
I can't stop it, I may prevent an early death, once or twice, I might say to the God of Death, "Not today". But one day, he'll get his mark, but instead of dwelling on that fact alone, I instead look at it like this: I might as well live each day as if I were dying tomorrow, because, hey, you never know.
Look, I shouldn't have to say this: Stop dwelling on death. Yeah, it's coming, get over it. Live life while you have it, don't dread it's end, enjoy it's existence and milk it until you've experienced everything humanly possible.
As Mister Spock would say, "Live long, and prosper."
the capacity to be bothered or bored or afraid are all aspects of consciousness. it is it that knows them and for whom they appear. when you know this you also realize you are That empty void behind all creation/realities. beyond consciousness. You return to that place every time you go to sleep by the way.
There is nothing to be afraid of, you are immortal, immaculate, immovable.
Yeah. The Void is a figment of my imagination. And since there's no way to know forma sure and live to tell about it, i constantly fear how i'm going to die, but what comes after also troubles me
imagination, fear, joy, problems, solutions are qualities of the consciousness/body-mind. The Absolute has no qualities, it is Pure Awareness, all qualities appear in front of it.
Why are you waisting your time in irrational feasr?
things are not as they seem thou. we discussing the fear is helping it go away. its part of the path for it to go away. you just feel you have to do what you have to do, in this case start a post.
the more you grow in understanding the more you are in control of happens to you.
Worst case scenario is i die, but there's nothing. In that case i won't give a **** (cuz pepsi), but, as long as i'm alive, it scares the **** out of me
the best way to deal with fear is to allow it to ruin you on every level it wants to ruin you.
I had many fears, I let them and their respectable events happen. Nothing bad happened, I actually benefited from their absence because they were holding me back.
if you live your life with that mindset you will grow as a person much faster than 99% of the world's population.
How about we just experience it for ourselves?
Nobody has ever came back to life and just says there is a afterlife.
Does everyone think that science can solve everything, like giving life or anything else that is said to be impossible?
Do you think diseases can evolve, growing faster and soon be stronger to oppose the human body defense?
But in my opinion, There is a afterlife, a heaven and hell.
It's not something you can see or feel physically.
And I believe that the first humans to walk on earth were intelligent.
It's something that defies everything in the same time not defying :
Religion.
It's just my opinion,so don't start throwing spears at me, please.
**auradan used "*roll picture*"** **auradan rolled image** Thank you friend, I don't know you, but you are my funnyjunk brother IF I CATCH YOU STEALING COOKIES FROM MY COOKIE JAR I WILL EAT YOUR HANDS SO YOU WILL NEVER STEAL AGAIN. I WILL EAT YOUR FACE IF YOU EAT MY CHOCOLATE PUDDING THAT IS IN THE FRIDGE, AND I WILL CRUSH EVERY THING YOU LOVE AND DEAR IF YOU STEAL MY ICE CREAM. I WILL NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER FORGIVE YOU IF YOU DO THOSE THINGS Please don't be scared my dear brother.
I'd go with the eternal dark oblivion approach, but since I believe there's no consciousness after death, it's sort of invalid. Basically, it feels like before you were born. At least, that's my point of view
1-Mainly, dank memes
2-All biology dies. Except for that jellyfish thing that reverts back to a young state. That being said, humans die. If not because of natural causes, they get killed. Immortality is sort of a ****** concept, but hey, it's all relative, right?
dont think so
we believe many things because were told
not saying go shoot yourself you wont die
but have you seen the Jim Carrey movie "The Truman Show"? (GREAT movie btw)
this "life" may all just be a fabrication built around you, the first immortal, tricking you into bellieving youre human just like us.
clever amirite?
but even if that is too far fetched, considering your scientific standpoint concerning biology; are there not amazing discoveries in science weekly if not daily? and every now and then there are even profound discoveries that change the fundamental viewpoints of human understanding. Point being we, the human race, may discover a type of protein or something within the next 20 years that doubles our lifespan.
so when youre 148 years old in 2100's you'll be wondering what the **** else is there to do with all this time
It's plausible, yes. But that's not all there is to it. A WWIII could erupt at any given moment, wiping all life on Earth like it was never here in the first place. But yes, medical science is advancing rather quickly
you need to realize you will have an impact on the world no matter how big or small it is, so decide what impact you leave on the world.
whatever awaits us after this life, or a lack of what awaits us is nothing we can do about, so focus on what we can do while we are here. that is what i say to myself to cope with the mortality i have and my inevitable death
I know its probably nothingness after death, and its not dying that scares me. Its all the people I love dying before me, I think im afraid of being alone.
You literally have just asked the question that many thousand years ago birthed religion entirely. All people die and nobody knows if your consciousness lives on past your body. There's no way to know. So just enjoy each day of your life because you know you're gonna die. If it came down to finding an ultimate solution, suicide is your only option unless you want to live in a false reality with some fake beliefs shoved up your ass. The key is to not NEED a solution and to be able to say **** it, my planet won the lottery and there's a lot of smart creatures who live here with minds that work in ways none of them understand.
Picture yourself standing outside from a birdseye view. Now zoom out until you are a small speck next to your house. Then zoom out until all you see is mountains and oceans. Then zoom out until you see the planet, THEN zoom out until you can't even see our sun. From that point of view, nobody knows or cares about humans dying on Earth.
First you must realize that you do not know, then you must accept that you do not know. The UNIVERSE we live in it VASTLY LARGER than ALL people and ESPECIALLY their ability to conceptualize it.
Death is only the 3rd act of a 14 part play. If you have a copy of the script you can keep act 3 from ever happening. I myself have gone through 12 acts, before making some minor alterations to loop me back to act 2.
Death is not an act to be feared. It's one of the more unpleasant ones sure, but you come out of it. Exact details are company secrets, but trust me, it's act 13 you want to be fearing. It's a 14 part play for a reason.
Think about the flowing: the universe is shaped by chaos and indifference. Immense heat and bitter cold. Empty void and and trembling energy. It's empty and endless space. Would you like to be out there alone for all eternity? Death is a reword. Desintegration of structure and that's it.
