Except she's telling him "you don't wanna respect me? Okay, no airtime for you. Go become a nobody again."

Well news agencies need to show stupid **** , just as much as stupid **** wants to be on the news, so in reality she could face problems from her boss on not doing her job, regardless if she is in her right or not - you know how bosses can be.

Anyway that was just a dumb comment, I never expected a ********* to erupt over it or to get a million thumbs, whatthehell, funnyjunk?
User avatar #105 to #102 - elcreepo (12/23/2015) [-]
And you know how FJ is.

Some things are gold and get -1 thumb. Some things were made purely to dick around and suddenly everybody has an opinion and green thumbs at the ready.
User avatar #104 to #102 - elcreepo (12/23/2015) [-]
If she's the HOST, however, she won't get in trouble.

And this is an interview, not a guy yelling insults about women from atop a rooftower. The news doesn't need to report on the guy's attitude towards women, nobody cares.

And most first world news agencies would side with her on not allowing him to be an ass to her, without resorting to calling him such. But I can see your point too as being possible.

To be honest they'd probably make up for anything lost with the publicity they could get from something like that

Except just one tiny detail. Guy got his enourmous ego crashed when she basically said the equivalent of tits or gtfo.
Tits=manners, gtfo=conversation is over.
#107 to #3 - anon (12/23/2015) [-]
Are you serious, are you saying that asking to see tits is the same as asking the human you are having a conversation with tp respect you? I really don't get why you get thumbed up so much. Asking to be respected is not the same as asking to see the other person's body part, she didn't ask him to show her his abs, or ass or any other sexualized body part. And men wants to be respected as well, as they should. If a man were interviewing a feminazi who kept insulting him, he wouldn't say tits or gtfo, he would (and should) tell her that she should stop insulting him or the interview is over. It's about respect, and not about women who have no power over the internet.

I honestly wanted to see what he had to say.
Maybe he just didn't like her, instead of the implied he just doesn't like all women.
I doubt it but that "You are a woman who" leaves me guessing.

User avatar #15 to #3 - draylon (12/23/2015) [-]
Except by saying what she does; how she does, she is proving she has no respect left for him either.

All it is, is her basically saying " **** You." In a more "acceptable" words.

By the end they do have mutual respect for each other, even if that mutual level is 0.
User avatar #84 to #15 - haroldsaxon ONLINE (12/23/2015) [-]
Respect, just like disrespect, is earned. What you should begin with is common decency.

Did this man not earn disrespect?

Asking for respect is now equivalent to " **** you"

What a world we live in
#33 to #15 - ohemgeezus ONLINE (12/23/2015) [-]
That's not quite it. She's not saying, " **** you", she's saying, shes giving him an ultimatum, "either give me the respect I deserve or **** you". If she had no respect for him, she wouldn't have given him a chance to continue the conversation.
User avatar #41 to #33 - draylon (12/23/2015) [-]
In my mind at least; People don't change because you ask, nor suddenly respect you if you ask. Especiially when it comes to religious beliefs (which is where i assume his opinion comes from

so the first of the 2 option is literally just words that are said to be said, only used as a defense or to gain sympathy.

Which leaves only the 2nd as the real meaning.

You can tell she is visibly upset (understandable), and also has that, "I'm done with this." look. Which leads me to believe that she wouldn't really be interested in the conversation even in the event of spontaneous respect.

At least, that is how I see it.

(Not Going to Happen) or X
is the same as X so i take that as the intended meaning.
User avatar #50 to #41 - iamthetoaster (12/23/2015) [-]
that man's own opinions may not change on the spot, but if he still goes through the act of choosing to be respectfull and choosing to /show/ respect during the interview, that still counts for something.
User avatar #42 to #41 - ohemgeezus ONLINE (12/23/2015) [-]
Just because it's improbable that he would show her respect, and maybe even apologize, doesn't mean it's impossible. She may have had an annoyed look on her face, but that's only because she was annoyed. If she really wanted to end it, she would have, likely by saying, "well thank you for your time, bye bye".
User avatar #45 to #42 - draylon (12/23/2015) [-]
Except that if she said that, she would just stay angry, being a normal person she would want to vent. By saying what she did, she is also venting, because it also carries the meaning of, "As you are, you aren't worthy of MY time."

All i see here is a normal woman, lashing back after an insult.

Are you literally retarded? Do you have Down Syndrome or something?
User avatar #89 to #65 - draylon (12/23/2015) [-]
Just because you are incapable of understanding someone's thought processes does not make them retarded.
User avatar #90 to #89 - alarubra ONLINE (12/23/2015) [-]
Let me see if I can understand your thought process. "I'll just repeat the same point over and over again in different ways, rather than responding to or even acknowledging the arguments brought against it." Sound about right?
#164 to #90 - theattackmaster (12/27/2015) [-]
you're not in much of a position to talk there my friend, considering you added nothing to our conversation about subjectiveness, and reading through this, any rational thinking human could easily deduce that he was right, and that you were wrong, but hey, I guess understanding basic concepts isn't for everyone.
User avatar #91 to #90 - draylon (12/23/2015) [-]
Aside from the people purely hopping on to bash my comments with generic criticism or commentaries in order to get thumbs.

I did respond to the guy who actually seemed to want to actually have a discussion. I held a conversation and expressed my thoughts. The only thing that i can see that I didnt Acknowledge is The fact that yes, there is a very tiny possibility something bizarre can happen and he might "gain respect" towards her. But as I said, I View it as a tiny tiny near impossible chance.

In fact I view this "conversation" with you as most likely nothing more than an attempt to gain thumbs and a response from me to get new posts, seeing as you have done nothing but insult me and made generic comments.

Anyone else want to jump on the bandwagon for some free thumbs?

Unless You actually have something constructive to add, I wont be responding.
User avatar #128 to #91 - lathyrusvii (12/23/2015) [-]
Yeah, sure, let me hop on this train.

You said 'in my mind at least,' which speaks only to yourself, and not what actually might happen. You're precluding reality from happening by stating that your perception takes precedence.

So the first of the two options actually is a fairly valid thing, despite what you think. People who assert that they are to be respected as equals generally get that respect, deserved or not. Asides, though, speaking an ultimatum isn't asking.

The second argument, that her face held a look of 'I'm done with this,' which led you to believe that she wouldn't really be interested in the conversation in the event of mutual respect, is... what? She showed, clearly, that she wasn't kidding about her stance. At that point, she was done with the conversation, unless he complied and stopped ******** about.

Your initial argument that she was kindly saying ' **** you' isn't valid either. It was one of the two options she presented, but like ohemgeezus >>#33 was saying, it was a choice. Which is... what an ultimatum is.

Not understanding that point is why alarubra got thumbs for >>#65. It seems that people do actually understand your thought process, but see it as flawed.

Anyway, that's my two cents. Read or disregard; I had fun, either way.
#23 to #15 - anon (12/23/2015) [-]
That's not inferring that in the slightest. If she truly didn't have any respect for him, she would've done something absolutely petty like drive some zany insult after cutting the interview, which she didn't. She demanded a level platform for discussion, and when he didn't provide the effort for one, she simply "walked away" as best as she could as a televised anchor.
