Oklahoma inmate dies after 'botched'
lethal injection
A " death row inmate in Oklahoma died
of a heart attack after his execution was
halted because the lethal injection of three
drugs failed to work properly.
The execution of Clayton Lockets, 38, was
halted minutes, when one of his veins
ruptured, preventing the drugs from taking full
effect-
The execution of a fellow inmate, due two
hours later, was postponed.
Both men had unsuccessfully challenged a
state law that shields the identities of
companies supplying the drugs.
It comes amid overhue legality

What's wrong with a firing squad? It's good enough for anyone during war, why isn't it good enough those who've committed the highest of crimes?

A certified marksman(marksmen) just shoot a guy in the heart. He dies quickly, but it's not exactly the most pleasant experience I'd imagine. Seems perfect for what they look for in an execution.

You can still request execution by firing squad. If I ever lose it and kill a ******* of people, that's how I'm going.

I just don't get why that isn't the standard anymore. As clearly shown here, chemicals are unreliable as people react differently to them and "complications" occur. Bullets work on everyone just the same if hit in the right areas. Cheaper too.

Yes, but that's "inhumane."
Which is code for "The company selling the chemicals used for executions has a very strong lobby group somewhere, lining the pockets of various 'humanitarian' politicians who decided to change the law such that death by lethal injection is standard, thereby gaining business for the chemical company."

Don't get me wrong, I don't normally make conspiracy theories, but this is basically what happened. Just spun in such a light as to make the companies look bad.

You're probably right on that one. I don't see how a bullet to the head/heart is "inhumane", so the only real problem left is it's dirt cheap compared to various chemicals and injection machinery and paying professionals to operate this medical death machine.

Yup. Still, I support the right to choose one's death. Chemicals should not be out of the question.

That being said, I don't understand why they don't let convicted criminals donate their organs. And blood. Seriously, people pay to have these criminals locked up and/or executed, why can't we at least make them do something for the community?

Who would want to walk around filled with murderous organs?

Sometimes people amaze me. Why must people insist upon irrational ideas?
