**** . I should have gone to bed, had to browse FJ one last time. I'm retarded.

Now I've got my Husky in my thoughts again.

I had a nightmare just the other night where I had to put him down again. I had thought about him earlier in the day. My best grieving process is to get as much out on the first day and then try and forget about it. Which is really ******* hard to do when he was your only friend for years.

Damnit I miss my fuzzy Wolf.

**** cancer. He didn't deserve that. He didn't do anything wrong to anyone in his life, he loved everyone he met the instant he saw them.

Sorry for my rant FJ, just got the better of me I guess.

I own a cat, not a dog, but I know exactly how you feel.

And now I'm plagued with thoughts of the fact that I'm almost certainly going to outlive her.

Goddamn, the best we can do is give them a good life under our care.

If you think about it, they wouldn't live any longer if we weren't their caretakers, really all we're doing is making sure they love in comfort.

I feel ya man.
Had to put down my five year old golden Retriever last week.
He was allergic to everything, had trouble walking and breathing.
Feel like I lost one of my best friends.

Five years old? Christ,... that's young. Sorry to hear that, I know it was hard to watch him live like that.

Mine lived to 10 before he got intestinal cancer. I'll spare you the graphic details no one needs that of what led to us discovering he had cancer he had been seemingly fine up to that point and us putting him down a day later.

Get another. You'll never replace the one you've lost, but it helps fill the hole.
#32 to #8 - thewulfman (04/29/2014) [-]
I'm not ready yet, I don't want to feel like I'm betraying his memory by just getting a new dog. '

<-- This guy can't be replaced so easily.
#147 to #32 - Dember ONLINE (04/29/2014) [-]
Anyone who could ever consider another animal as a "replacement" for one that passed away is truly heartless.
Anyone who can love knows that a friend that close can never be replaced.

It does not mean you should give into despair or sit around feeling sorry for yourself; for whether or not you realize it, it is honestly selfish not to share all the love and care you have to give to a living being in need of it.
And if you provided for your friend and gave him a happy life, then you are not a selfish person.

Whether you think you are emotionally ready or not, consider getting another animal anyway. When you have such a grateful little face to stare up at you and a soft warm fluffy companion to curl up beside you, you'll realize you were ready all along, and you'll be glad you did.

It'll never be the same, because it never can be - it will be new, and it will be wonderful.

If you need more incentive: huskies, malamutes, wolfdogs and other nordic breeds are very frequently discarded by their owners after they realize how big, active and willful they are, not to mention how much they shed, dig and get into trouble by being playful and adventurous creatures.

Wherever you are, there is no doubt a shelter or even a rescue group devoted to them. Who knows what they might have been through, but any one of them would be eternally thankful for a loving home and friend to take care of them.

At the very least, please think about it.

I've lurked on FJ for a number of years now... Idk maybe like 4 or 5. I never really comment on **** because I have to do it from my phone which sucks, but I view content on the daily. Laughs have been had, feels have been felt. One thing that never really ceases to amaze me is the FJ community, user to user. People can post more personal, heart felt **** and not get bashed on. We share the feels, the gifs, the thumbs, in some way trying to help the individual get past it. I don't know guise. I guess I'm just impressed with the humanity that goes on around here. Truly sorry about your dog bud, animals are the best of friends sometimes.

My dog, Fergus was put down last year. It was right after my mum and dad broke up aswell. For a final dinner we got him bacon, chicken and coffee. He used to always drink coffee and survive. God I miss Fergus.

pic related, its a picture like him (I don't have any pictures of him on my laptop)
