because first of all it's completely impossible for a leader to take over the whole world that way and also depending on how loose your definition of war is you could say he did go to war with Germany
Meh, thats just german democracy for you. Hitler had the support of the people through most of his regime. Its not like when he took over all the germans suddenly didnt like him anymore.
If there were no wars, the Nazism ******** wouldve been contained to Germany. Eventually there would be a civil uprising that would've changed the regime. Or not, its hard to predict.
Most decent countries nowadays have laws that forbid channeling power to a singular political party. A change in these laws would raise a civil uprising (which doesnt count as war?).
These fascist regimes couldnt really expand in any way. So I don't get how they would take over the world. I guess something akin to what the Soviet union did to its neighbours might work. But that needs a huge support for your movement in the targeted country as well.
On the other hand if most people support a fascist regime, then that's democracy in action, nothing can be done about it. Some people would point at Hamas winning the elections in Palestine for example. Its not always for the best to give the majority the vote.
A wise man once said:
The only problem with democracy is that my idiot neighbour gets to vote aswell.
Force wasn't the definition, war is the one thing that wasn't allowed. A war requires an invading part and a defending part so technically a civil war wouldn't count
Can we stop pretending that war isn't humanities greatest achievement and most desired state of being?
Now before you go running for your pitchforks and torches, hear me out. We love war, we love it so much we wage wars on things that don't even have the capacity to fight back. War on drugs, war on obesity, war on ignorance... hell, there are even people who've said they want to wage a war on war itself!
We love war, that's the plain and simple truth. A status of conflict is what drives us to achieve, drives us to succeed... gives us a reason to live.
You can say you hate war and wish it would end all you like, but when it comes down to it you won't change the channel when you see armed conflict breaking out on the news. You stand with the remote in your hand and butterflies in your stomach, and while you consciously tell yourself it's disgusting and you hate it and you wish it would end, subconsciously you adore it on a primal level. It gives you purpose, gives you meaning, gives you something to believe in. Whether that be in it's continued existence on this earth or total eradication from human history, it gives you a something to fight for... something to create your own war for.
**sherlockbatman used "*roll picture*"** **sherlockbatman rolled image**
it's not the death we love, it's the action and excitement. we love conflict because it's interesting and forces evolution and advancement. if we could keep the danger and violence (maybe at a less brutal level), but without anyone dying somehow, war would be perfect. know your own species, fool. people hate that death. those that don't are certifiable.
You're mixing up war with conflict, giving a literal concept metaphorical meaning. Of course we love conflict. It's change's best friend, and we cannot live without change. More importantly, it reminds us that there are things we love, that there's something we want to defend. War is only conflict for soldiers, generals and the like. For innocents, it's just struggle, which differs from conflict in the fact that it's one-sided. War is when conflict reaches farther than it should.
Those butterflies you mention are morbidity. Just like sexual desire, they're inherently human. And just like lust, it doesn't define us. They way we react towards it does. If you see someone attractive in the street, you'll want to have sex with them, and rape might cross your mind. That doesn't make you a bad person, it makes you a normal human being. What you do, in the end, is what really matters.
I get where you're coming from, but i think its more a fact of "War is profitable" rather than "We love war."
War sells weapons n bullets and **** , and what are we fighting? Terror cells. Can we ever actually STOP them? No. They're invisible terror cells. When we kill ISIS's leader, Another will pop up. The cycle of a war on terror never ends, meaning America (And countries like it) Will always profit from "War"
The same thing happened in WW2 and such, There was very little of a depression if memory serves it actually happened AFTER the war, Not as much money was being made etc.
Nah, think of how many Brits loved their expansion wars. There's always going to be that satisfaction of without a doubt proving you are better than somebody, even if what makes you better is luck. It's been ingrained in our psyches ever since we formed tribes. The thrill of hunting, the thrill of besting. There's loss for sure, and there's times of regret, and it's not for everybody, but for those born for it, there's nothing better. And history has shown us that many love war.
Ah yes, because the individuals themselves made so much money fighting. They viewed it as sport, the ultimate sport even. I'm speaking on an individual level, the individuals in the war don't profit from it, but they feel an exhilaration, a fear, an anger, a sorrow, and a rush of jubilation that no play, movie, song or work of art will ever be able to inspire. There's the hell to it, but as Robert E. Lee said: "It is well that war is so terrible, otherwise we would grow too fond of it." For most (since most of us aren't sociopaths) the pain and terrors of war far outweigh the surging emotions of war. But even then it's usually the terror of seeing innocents and comrades killed.
They actually DID make a lot of money from it, The higher the rank the more you got till you were getting ******* LAND. From there you slowly go up and you'll have have the kingdoms and how they profit from all of it.
We, as a species, didn't "Evolved" to be in such large clumps, we were meant to be in Tribes, What did these tribes do? Fight other tribes over the most basic of resource: Food & water. And women. This is Millions of years of evolution, War is Hell, But you can't really sit there and say "WE ARN"T MEANT TO BE LIKE DISS" when you're literally living in a day & age where **** is handed to you on a silver ******* platter...Try living in a day and age where you have to fight your Neighbors for their ******* apples.
if you want to see evidence of this, Just go watch a Nature documentary about nearly ANY type of Primate, War is not a "Human" construct.
technically war has to be declared
if they never officially "Declare war" it never actually becomes a war
Example, the us has not gone to war since 1941
Vietnam was a conflict not a war
korea was a conflict not a war
they've fought numerous conflicts, but they were never classified as wars
we call them wars but they are only considered conflicts
The title War is never declared again, an fighting continues unchanged
Its a technicality, but god damn ironic wishes thrive on technicalities
That's a lot better.
Although you must have some strange body ideals, because my BMI is 21.5. And my gene code is precisely 0% pig. (Don't worry, I'm not ManBearPig, I'm super cereal)
The war on drugs. The ironic consequences there is everyone becomes okay with it and you end up with packs of people smoke crack in the street like they were cigarettes.
war is defined as "a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state"
a "group within a nation or state" is a very vague term, meaning it could be political or even just a couple friends against some assholes they hate, meaning that almost all conflicts could technically be a "war" so:
no more sports, its a war between two teams
no more video games, its a war between the player and the game
no more fighting, its a war between two people
the entirety of physics breaks down, cause it's a lot of forces fighting against eachother (you jumping upwards is your kinetic force fighting against gravity, causing a war between you and gravity)
tl;dr ending ALL wars would break physics and end reality as we know it.
