The Spanish/American war was decent I guess, America lost little troops mostly to disease and over exhaustion , we had Cuba as a sugar land for a while, got the Philippines as well, Teddy showed off enough to be President later, and America showed that our army/navy was decent.

Actually that's not completely true. Several wars were profitable, in fact, at least to the common-man. During war times, many, many jobs were created for the manufacturing of warparts and goods, for example. And then when Germany lost the war, the US basically slapped them with the bill, saying they were responsible and had to pay for it.

Well, there was a war between Norway and Sweden right after Norway left Denmark. It lasted 2 weeks, no shots were fired and no one were killed. The Swedish forces simply marched in towards the capital.

To add on to the non-violence; Swedish troops were punished if they trampled lawns or flowerbeds.
