Speed Nova just 'cause I think it's funny. Other than laughs tho, gotta say Trin. Dat almost but not quite but still pretty much immortal goodness. Yus.
I only have Volt and Frost, though I mostly only play Frost, and I love em both. I'm thinking the next one I'm gonna get is Hydroid, even though I've heard he's really not all that good.
Excal has gotten me through absolutely everything since I started with him. ****** is the closest thing to a God with Exalted Blade
Lately I've been liking Valkyr, and I'm sure I'll like Nova when I get actually use her instead of "Sit in this corner and don't move until wave 20, then start spamming Molecular Prime. If you move you're getting kicked" every time I join a game
But Chroma is by far my favorite frame. His abilities, his looks, just the right amount of tankiness, everything is just so ******* cool and useful about him. Shutting down doors and hallways with Effigy in Survival missions is going to be amazing
if you wanna min-max your frames then yes you will need many hours of grinding.
if you wanna have fun? take your starter/favourite frame and finish all the quest missions(which are pretty neat).or challenge the nightmares.
every game is a chore if you wanna get better stuff, especially an F2P game.
Honestly, the only reason that made me check out this game was that it was the same guys who made dark sector. I was reading somewhere that this game may take place thousands of years after dark sector since Hayden Tenno is able to somewhat properly use the technocyte virus, effectively making him the first Tenno in honor of his name ,but the developers like to dodge the question when it comes to this subject since warframe was technically the first game they wanted to make but couldn't.
Yes, it does take place in the same universe, the devs confirmed this.
The in game codex for Excalibur says he was the first warframe, so it implies that Hayden Tenno became Excalibur at some point. Each warframe has it's own back story, they are meant to be characters, not just classes you select. The technocyte virus is in warframe as the infestation, the glave is also in warframe.
That's pretty cool that you liked Dark Sector so much that you tried warframe, for most other people it works in the opposite direction.
Usually any story that has the premise of "Oh hey there is this virus that kills most people, but it turns a few into something better than human" is on my list of favorite story tropes. Besides I obtained all the achievements on Xbox 360 for this game because I was a hardcore completionist at the time . I'm glad the devs gave in an added that description to warframe, since they loomed over that question when warframe came out.
Here you go, a screen cap of the codes entry, if the last line looks off it's because I couldnt get all the text in one shot, so I edited two images together.
Of all the game developers, I love DE the most, because they show that they not only love their game, but the show the community luv with all sorts of **** that they give away.
"Gave them the weapons of the old ways, Gun and Blade". It's descriptions like this in video games that sometimes makes me prefer reading them to playing the actual game. Thanks for showing me this, I had my doubts since I didn't really follow up whether or not the devs made Dark Sector an official cannon prequel to warframe after reading that AMA months ago somewhere.
best point and shooty frame would be Mesa.
innate dmg+ for guns.
dmg reduction(augmented to dmg return) skill.
skills all related to guns(gun mods can effect ulti)
moderate speed.
top tier frame, good for almost all missions.
no prime version meaning no need to feel like a second class frame.
rhino, but i'd recommend testing around yourself, there are several ''tanky'' warframes, but some of the more squishy ones can be practically invincible under the right conditions
Warframe is one massive grindfest that's only been getting worse. By the time I finally quit playing there was RNG inside the RNG inside the RNG and drops were so hideously distributed that you could spend literal weeks farming for **** and still not get it.
RNG in Warframe is finnicky as **** . It took me like 5 days to get Rhino Prime right after he released, and I spent a week trying to farm a kubrow egg. But at the same time it took me less than hour to get Nekros from Lephy. 3 keys, 3 runs, done.
And this after they already "fixed" the algorithm the first time.
My record though is spending a literal month - 33 days in total - trying to get Saryn systems from Thaym before they had diminising returns on drops and when warframe components were still white orbs.
After having played both Warframe and Skyforge I assume that everything that looks neat and is F2P will end in some korean-farm-festival. I wouldn't mind some heavy grinding for gear, but when I need to grind heavily for abilities and levels it's just stupid.
I am rank 13, been playing since the super alpha-beta was released, and I have 1000 hours logged onto steam.
Pros:
1) Amazing graphics, it seems redundant these days but Warframe truly impresses me with the ridiculous stuff going on 24/7, and how realistic it looks.
2) Optimization: Not only does their lowest setting look good, and the highest setting can hold high fps even on my ****** computer, but they are one of the only games that I know of that lets you switch down from directX11 to directX10 or 9. This is a huge thing for me and my ****** computer, which runs well enough but directX11 was always a problem.
3) Original feel, the overall atmosphere is unlike any other game I've played. Very mysterious, quick-paced combat, and very adventure/exploratory like. best one word to describe it would be Enigma.
4) Throwback to child. You are a Futuristic, alien, wizard, ninja. All of the weapons and actions are incredibly satisfactory in that gun-ho manner. Blowing up badguys and doing incredibly awesome ninja moves that honestly feel skilled and not "press x to instantly do awesome thing".
5) A whole **** ton of customization. I'm not even going to list how many weapons and warframe there are, but theres about 20ish warframes or more now I think, and a good 150 original weapons, not including alternate versions. All of these can be modded up to be incredibly different and have great flexibility.
Cons:
1) RNG. Now I know you guys have probably heard of warframe's insane amount of RNG and grinding. You do not understand yet. I'll use a single example: Arcane enhancements. You use arcane enhancements in groups of ten to boost a weapon or accessory. The Enchancements drop randomly from about 50 different enchanments, and the good ones are really rare (so you're looking ay abysmally low odds). The mission itself takes anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour depending on how organized your team is. That by itself it a **** ton of farming, let alone the farming you did for your prime weapon, your prime frame, your prime sentinel. Even the new warframes require grinding for every single part, and theres nothing to stop u from getting 14 of the same parts you already have (happened to me quite a bit). This makes every single little mission a chore.
2) Lack of Story Mode. There is literally, absolutely no story in this game. It's not like dark souls style either, where they give you little clues to piece together, the players of this game get little to no confirmation on any backgrounds or current events. all we know was there was a war, now wer fighting 2 races and some zombies. that's it.
3) Updates incredibly rare, to much prime stuff. DE's big updates with new content, usually including a new frame, quest, and some new mechanics and weapons, are quite fun and usually give me some stuff to do for, say, 3-5 days. They come once every 2-3 months. This creatues a huge gap of content for a constantly changing MMO. They try to satisfy the playerbase with little updates, but these are all just reprints of already created weapons, quests and such.
4) Loss of customization late game. I have fully reached the "late game" of warframe, and have the ability to play it. This is due to my maxed out warframes that are all prime and have rank 10 gold mods, maxed prime mods, all primed weapons with their maxed mods, crazy amount of RNG to reach the stage where I can successfully play/carry a t4 to high levels to actually get the good parts for more weapons and frames. The problem is, there are a ton of weapons and frames that I own and enjoy, but I can't play them because they would get steamrolled in higher level stuff. I get DE wants to get prime weapons be stronger, but the difference between my Maxed Soma prime and my Paraycst is a whoopening 5k corrosive damage on a semi-automatic rifle, vs 52 poison damage on 3 hit burst shotgun. pretty staggering.
5) Lack of enemy classes and replay satisfaction.
You're pretty accurate with most the assessments, but there actually is story and lore to the game and there are updates fairly often. Lots of small updates, granted. The big updates happen once every two months or so. Likewise there is plenty of lore about the Orokin and the Warframes and the universe is going to be expanded soon as the Sentients are starting to be properly explained.
No, while she can still go invincible, they created enemies that spawn a huge energy shield around themselves and other enemies, that removes all positive status effects. IE: Rhino armor, valkyr invincibility, Trinity invincibility, etc.
