On August 1991, started the battle of Vukavar. This put the Yugoslav People Army, Croatian Serbs against the Croats. 1,800 lightly armed soldiers and civilian volunteers from Croatia fought against a force of 36,000. One of the largest battles and one of the first largest European city to be destroyed since WWII.

Basically it was Croats pushing little by little agains the Serbs while both Bosnian and Serbia fought the majority of the battles. The Croatian got their independence, the Bosnian and Serbian War ended and holy **** was there mass murders on both sides that each had to answer for.
Due to recent comments, I’ve changed the way I’m making these points due to grammatical mistakes and poor syntax. So I opened up word and would write out the entire post on Word and cut and paste under pictures. Alright you war junkies, I’m here to give you your fix, alright let’s get this going. Now I had no idea which war to do, but today I’ll do the Croatian Civil War or War of Independence, depending on which dickhead you ask, but I’m going with independence, due to a request. Now, I already have done the Bosnian War, and this was happening around the same time. When Yugoslavia broke up, many of the ethnics states, Bosnians, Croats, Serbs, and what not they wanted their own land.
Now, Croatian military was so ill prepared and hastily set up, that police forces were the ones doing a grand majority of fighting at first. A series of protest and ethnic clashes which many resulted in bombings against Croatian police forces. Now the Serbs living in Croatian territory wanted the land they were in to be annexed into Serbia because, well they’ve been living there before the break up and they’re Serbians, so naturally they want to live in a country of their own people.
However, Croatia had control of the area and did not wish to relinquish it. So, no it’s neither Serbia’s nor Croatia’s fault, it was just fighting control of land.
The first conflicts began in 1991, and honestly they were quite mild, with only a few hundred dead at first, but the battles got larger and more and more died as a result, but it was mostly police forces fighting Serbs who were trying to secede.

On 2 May,1991 was the battle of Borovo Selo, the Croats call it the Borovo massacre, but it was a battle, a small one. See these two Serbs tried to change the flag from the Croatian one to the Serbian one. The police were sent to arrest them, resulted in two to be captured by Serbian militia. The Croats sent more police officers to retrieve the captives, resulting more fighting and eventually the Yugoslav’s People Army intervening. On 25 June, 1991Croatia declared independence. Course Yugoslavia didn’t want this, but they were breaking up and weakening.

This was a victory for Serbian forces, but they took at least 3,000 casualties. Now, around the same time, some Serbian forces, JNA(Yugoslav people army) and Croatian police forces fought in the city of Gospić on August 29 to September 22, which resulted in a Croatian victory.
There was a two day clash called the battle of Kusonje which was pretty short, and didn’t have much casualties. On September 14, the Croatian National Guard blockaded a lot of JNA barracks across the country. This was a victory for Croatia who seized a lot of supplies, some tanks and a few JNA moved to the Croatian side. On September 16 to the 22, the battle of Šibenik started which was a short conflict involving Croatian troops and JNA with support of the Serbs. Although the victory was for Croatia, there was still over 100 days of shelling.
The battle of Zadar, which resulted in a cease-fire, which had 3,000 Croatian troops, and about 4,500 JNA troops. On October 1, 1991, the Siege of Dubrovnik begins which put 7,000 JNA troops against at least 1,000 croatian troops which ended with the Yugoslav troops pulling back.
Now a few number of massacres occurred against Croat citizens and Serbs, although more Croats had happened until the end of 1991. In 1992 a ceasefire was set up, but it was broken. On July 1, 1992 the Croats started Operation Tiger to push the Serbs away from Bosnian and Croat land. It was a success and lead the Serb troops to be pushed towards the town of Popovo.
After Operation Tiger happened, until November, Croatian troops had to push advancing serb troops. Honestly, most of the fighting at the time was Serb against Bosnians, but there were a few fighting against the Croats.
On January 22 till February 1, 1993 the Croats started operations to retake Maslencia to northern Dalmatia and Lika from the Serbs. There was 10,000 Croats and 8,500 troops. It was a victory for the Croats. Starting on September 9, Operation Medak Pocket began by at least 3,000 troops from Croatia and the UN, Canadian and French troops against a force of 800 men and at least 100 tanks. The Croats advance trying to reach the south of Gospić.
Okay so on October 20 until November 3, 1994, Croat and Bosnian, yeah that is correct it was a battle between them all, anyway, this battle between both Croatian and Bosnian against Serb troops which was made possible due to an agreement that had both countries allied. It was a victory for them and made possible for Operation Winter. Op. Winter was organized by the Croats and had a force of around 7,000 Croat and Bosnian troops against the Serbs and pushed them out of 20 kilometers from the front lines.
Now in the summer of 1995 began operation summer, creative I know. There was few forces moving from the line so Croatia gathered the operation to push towards Bosansko Grahovo, which again resulted in a Croatian victory.
