This guy is right.
Given 1e^(i*pi) means the the number is in the complex plane with a size of 1 and an angle of pi. Which will give us 0 on the imaginary axis and 1 on the real axis.
We can also rewrite it as cos(pi) + isin(pi) (another way to write complex numbers)
We know cos(pi) is 1 and sin(pi) = 0. Leaving us with 1.
