Most devices don't burn anywhere near the maximum current the USB port can supply.
You wouldn't want to charge multiple devices unless it was a high powered USB supply.
I have one that I made that will handle a load of ~10 amps. It's way overkill though because the USB cables are only rated for about 2 amps.
I made one for the car that does even more but it's a variable voltage output so you have to double check it depending on what I have been running.
