I'm fairly certain that's the same actor from the episode where they're talking about how great older adults are and an older guy in a sailor hat gives a thumbs up. I forget which episode, though.

Mhm, it took me awhile to get to the point where I am now. I had to accept that no matter what I do, I can't change the past, or who I am. And that took many years (20 as a matter of fact). Only since last year I have going things really well for me.

I sure as hell plan to! I am studying for the job I want (Research in biomedics) and with my current education level it is just a bit to low. This year I have gotten my dream research internship at the department of Experimental cardiology specalised in stem cells. It is really hard but oh god it is so satisfying to see results form. And this is my final year in my biotechnologic analyst study. After this year I will go to.... mhm in Dutch it is called HBO but I don't know the ecquivalent from your country and with that I can go into research for real

I sadly think I peaked in high school, because after it things have been down hill since, well I wasn't even popular or got laid, I just was having so much fun with my friends, I looked forward to going to school to see them to hang out at lunch to just have a blast, now I'm alone, hiding in my room behind a computer monitor all day, too scared to start life, live life man, enjoy it, and hopefully I'll get there again too.
User avatar #79 to #46 - beldepinda (12/14/2015) [-]
Bro, I will sure as hell do.

But...

You should drag yourself behind from your pc, unless you go to school again you will probably have not such a laid back time again anymore. You should strive to be happy with a balance of work. hobby's and friends (bro's before hoe's ) You can do it!

Take a hobby up while you are at it, I for instance have airsoft. It is for me the closest feeling I have with being together with a group of friends and have a ton of funs. In the game you battle together or against each other. Make epic actions and make memorys never forget like this one for me: (I was the guy charging forward, was there with half of my airsoft team)
ACN tip of the spear - Operation Vengeance Unit 13 Sittard

Hell, join the local rowing club if you have one. Or maybe athletics. Getting hobby with team based activitys is a great way to get into a group of friends again and having kick load ass of fun!

You can do it!

pics or did not happen, you joining a club/hobby that is

PS: it's 4:21 in the video when the action starts, apperntly I can't make a video start on a certain timepoint with FJ

User avatar #45 to #2 - moosaysthecal (12/14/2015) [-]
it was explained to me (im in college now) that you were cool in highschool but not anymore.

an example would be the cool kid who had parties all the time who is now dropped out of college and does nothing
#3 to #2 - anon (12/13/2015) [-]
When you reach the time when everything is awesome and then nothing ever lives up to it again.
Honestly it just sounds like something the nerds say about the guys who got laid all the time, but it does happen.

Nah, lotta jocks say it about themselves. The stereotype of the 30 year old who always talks about his college football days. It's kind of sad actually; there's a lot of opportunity for living an exciting life in college or high school for everyone, jock or nerd or goth or whatever box you get put in, but the working world can often drain that from people. Some people go onto play pro sports, or become entertainers, or live their passions out, but a lot of people with a lot of energy get dragged through the mud making somebody else money.

See, I worry that I peaked in High School. Because, minus the getting laid, High School sucked. My life since High School has sucked drastically harder, and I'm currently in my longest dry spell since losing my virginity.

I see peaking in people who live in fear. I mean, when you were young you went from place to place with no real fear. You had every reason to fear then... you were helpless and people were awful and statistically the crime rate was higher. Now you have no reason to fear and you do, so you let it hold you back.

I may hit my peak in performance, but only in a single way. Arnold Schwarzenegger is not a bodybuilder anymore, but he's still pretty big. Not at his physical peak but still. He had a damn good run as a damn good governator, but he's still pretty good at politics. Face it, he still hasn't reached his real peak as an actor. I want him to do a drama or something and blossom like Jim Carry in Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.

Tim Ferris was the same way. He won a gold medal in Kung Fu and was the first Westerner to do so. He gained 1.5+ pounds of muscle a day for one month, repeatedly hits the New York Times best seller list, wins big angel investing constantly, etc. A.J. Jacobs knocks it out of the park in a different way in each book, Dick Marcinko (creator of SEAL Team 6) was a great SEAL, a great author, a great consultant, a great motivator, a great bodyguard trainer, a great mercenary manager, and I'm sure is a great paranoid geriatric somewhere right now.

I joined the military when I was 19 and was whisked off to a million other countries and places, paid to go to college, met my wife, and am soon to commission just to get paid to go to college some more. I'm going from Illinois to Coronado California and will take most my classes while living on the beach, and the adventure doesn't stop there. I'll directly commission again once I'm done with the new program, and the wife and I will head to Europe this time instead of Asia. I'm thinking Belgium, but she wants to go someplace lame and stereotypical like Germany or France. I know too many people there, so **** that.

I got from E-2 to E-6 in 4 years and never stopped climbing the ladder. I didn't lose the friends I have as I climbed the ladder, I gained better friends along the way. My high school friends wouldn't attend my funeral for 1000 dollars, my Enlisted friends wouldn't pay for a cab ride home for me when I was drunk, but my fellow officer candidates came to my home with blankets just because I posted a Facebook status about how my space heater broke. How ridiculous is that?

Along the way I've helped people change their lives for the better. I've volunteered, gotten people overseas job positions, helped people into and out of the service, and helped people get into shape both physically and fiscally. I used to be more muscular sure, but my military Physical Fitness Test score has never been higher. I've never been more in love, more motivated, or able to help this many people. I've never had this high of a degree, and I've never stopped climbing.

You've never been more afraid, or had less reasons to be afraid. People don't move out of their parents house until an average of 27, but begin life from there thinking it's already too late for them. They're too far gone, too far down the wrong road. That's ridiculous. You're ridiculous. I've seen people on FJ who were 16 and a virgin wandering if it's already too late for them. You people are ******* silly. Get off your ass, do a couple pushups, watch a Tony Robbins video, and ******* get out there. The more extreme the change, the better. After all, according to your logic, you have nothing left to lose. Blessed be those who hit rock bottom, for the only way to go is up.

My life just keeps getting better and better and college was a while ago. Just started picking up writing a few months ago. 100 pages into my first book, researching the best way to get it published. My wife used to edit professionally, so I get that **** done for free.
