My step grandfather He's been my grandpa since my dad was younger than I am now was native American. He was kicked off the reservation when he enlisted in the Army. Honestly thought he was Mexican for my whole life, because he didn't have anything to do with them since before I was born. Only figured it out after he got new neighbors. Mexican neighbors. And that's how I found out Grandpa was racist.

Usually it's the tribe that helps pay for college. Profits from casino's and such, usually it's a cap they set. Example would be they only pay for 5 thousand a year or something. Which takes a load off but doesn't take it all away especially if you're trying to get into a more well known school.

Just because he has a grandfather that was Native American doesn't mean he has have any right to any money his tribe makes. It all banks on being 1/4 Native American or more. They got DNA tests and **** for that, they're hella strict too. Had a couple friends that should've been 1/4 because they got Native American grandparents on one side; but they got straight denied from birth because they were only 20-23% or some **** like that.

Native here, I grew up on the rez. He said hes step-grandfather. Most tribes have certain hoops you must go through before you can receive any type of benefits. If you are born to parents who are part of a tribe they must enroll you before you are a certain age. If they don't, you do not have the slightest chance in hell to get the Per Capita check. My tribe gets them bi-annually. However, if you have enough Native blood running through your veins you can apply later. You will get the health care and education benefits, you just won't get the check. Because its his step-grandfather, he doesn't have any ties to the tribe himself so he can't get **** just like you said.
And just to throw this in, one of the main things white people do that make me go "wtf?" is putting dream catchers in their cars on their rear view mirrors. Makes no ******* sense to me.

Yeah that's true, different tribes different requirements and stuff. IMO what white people do to make me question existence is the white people pow wow's and **** . Where there's like no Native American dancers just white people. It's ******* weird lmao. I guess imitation is a form of flattery so I'll let them do their thing. Also white people claiming they're 1/16th is the funniest **** I swear.

they are allowable as long as you are 1/16.
me, im between 1/64th and somewhere possibly above a quarter because i dont know my grandpa(moms dad)'s lineage. and because ti dont have that lineage i couldnt apply. my grandfather is preapproved for full financial support because he is 1/16th creek which has a hell of alotta money.

That's always been funny to me I live in Utah, where the only minorities we DO have are native Americans and Mexicans, and I always thought that's why I could tell the difference.

Now, I'm realizing that all the other whitey's here can't IDK why.

He shouldn't have knowingly ****** a married woman for so damn long. Keep in mind, this is a sort of heartache my father understands (the part about not being able to bond with a child you love and would normally have rights to). He has two adult sons that he loves, but he does not talk to them in general because they both treated us in an abusive and cruel manner (we even had to go to court at times). He also can't see his (currently) only grandchildren because of this. My father adores children and family.

I understand your father's pain as well. I have a sister who is putting me in the same situation with her sons, and it kills me.

Her kids and I would hang out all day in our backyard after she brought them home from school. Then she just stopped letting me see them. The worst part about it is that she won't tell me anything, and now she avoids me.

I'm really worried about the little guys.
