Also there's a small Russian in a gas mask and straight jacket that floats around while controlling a flaming corpse

Actually gas-mask boy Mantis is leeching off of various hosts. At different times, he's leeching off of:

Volgin, Venom, Shebani, Skullface, Eli. Might be others. You can tell which one he's leeching off of at the time by what trait of theirs he's taken on. Venom's horn, Shebani's necklace, Skullface's mask, Volgin's fire, Eli's beret tucked into an epaulet.

That last one is why they have a reunion later. It starts the relationship.

you know, it bothers me how the enemy only uses walkers during main ops, and not actually get them as "countering your attacks" in free roam
User avatar #3 to #2 - unatco (10/08/2015) [-]
good point man, i never gave much thought to it. maybe its because these PF's are mostly low level and they cant afford it? But the soviet army should be able to afford them, but maybe they dont wanna show their hand to the US? i dunno man, valid point you got there.
User avatar #4 to #3 - angelious ONLINE (10/08/2015) [-]
>>#2, actually the first guys we see actually using walker gears were pfs who bought them from cipher...

also i think its because the game was rushed out so its missing a ******** of content...
User avatar #5 to #4 - unatco (10/08/2015) [-]
after act 2 it goes straight down yeah. but kojima said that "everything is in the game, you just haven't unlocked it all yet"
so i dunno act 3 maybe?
User avatar #19 to #5 - angelious ONLINE (10/09/2015) [-]
act three is canon, it was supposed to ahve you dealing with eli and his uprising in a new map. there are even some unfinished cutscenes of it left in the game files.

also found in game files were evidence that there was supposed to be chapter four AND five.but those things have no cutscenes in them.

also its fairly obvious that the game is unfinished, the open world is extremely linear, there is nearly no action going on outside of the enemy bases, the animal gathering was supposed to end in something HUGE(evident by the cage in the center of the zoo) the online gameplay trailers showcase that a lot of stuff that was supposed to be in mb are now missing, and there are numerous doors that act like you haventh just opened them yet, but they never do unlock as the game progresses.
User avatar #36 to #19 - cloudriderx (10/10/2015) [-]
the large cage on the central animal platform is for the birds.

the first platform of each section of MB has a locked door with a red light above it. these are used in FOB infiltration and will be unlocked when you invade another player. you also spawn from this door when defending your FOB.
User avatar #37 to #36 - angelious ONLINE (10/10/2015) [-]
oh. that explains a lot...and that large cage is a dissapointment then..i was hoping for another monster hunter crossover...

there is proof of missing content when it comes to more area's to play. MGO is supposed to use modified locations from the main game yet I can't place two of the multiplayer maps anywhere in the game. these being the dam under construction and the shipping port. neither of the maps fit any location in the two area's you can explore.
User avatar #39 to #38 - angelious ONLINE (10/11/2015) [-]
the shipping yard could be from the oil rig...cant put a location on it tho.. outside of that i think those were from the island of pigs map that got scrapped with the ending of the game...
#6 to #4 - anon (10/08/2015) [-]
that's nice, hun
the first walker gears are when you go pick up Huey
used by the Russians

but what does that even matter? they're in main ops, used as a defence, why not just use them in the way he said?
#8 to #4 - anon (10/08/2015) [-]
The content it's missing is called MGS Ground Zeros

D-Dog is a digimon. just gall him D-Dogmon and chuck a hazard sign on his eye patch and you got some grade a digimon.

I unlocked the fulton gear for D-Dog yesterday, and I've tripled my numver of staff already. Tier 3 stun arm and fulton DD is the ultimate recruitment technique.
User avatar #17 to #14 - bossguycumsplash (10/09/2015) [-]
>not using rocket arm
User avatar #25 to #17 - demandsgayversion (10/09/2015) [-]
>>#14 I never use my arms. I unlocked a tranq sniper as fast as I could and mainly use the pistol. I have DD mark, but he takes way too long to fulton (although I can sometimes get him to go get someone far away if they're far away). I mainly snipe or use my pistol, and always headshots. Occasionally corner grabbing or sneaking behind, but I always get Octopus rank.
User avatar #32 to #25 - muffinofrage (10/09/2015) [-]
I like having the arms because they have infinite uses. Tranqing everyone will keep them down longer, but if you don't need the extra time then using the arms is a good way to conserve ammo and suppressors.
User avatar #33 to #32 - demandsgayversion (10/09/2015) [-]
I fulton everyone.

everyone

And usually you should be okay with headshots on ammo and suppressors with a sniper rifle and pistol (since getting a non-lethal assault rifle silencer takes forever), and I eventually got to like gassing dudes, and have used a lot of decoys to knock people out.
User avatar #34 to #33 - muffinofrage (10/09/2015) [-]
I really hope you have the D-Dog fulton then, because that's a massaive amount of GMP you'll be using. Also, I've heard talk about there being something wrong with fultoning people while at max capacity lately. They were saying that the newest fultoned soldier will always replace the lowest rank soldier even if they are worse than the old one. By fultoning everyone you could be hurting your staff by accidentally replacing good guys with E ranked troublemakers. If you haven't completely filled the staff yet, then fultoning everyone is okay, but if you've hit max, you may want to start being more picky with your selection.
User avatar #35 to #34 - demandsgayversion (10/09/2015) [-]
D-Dog takes too long to start fultoning, if he even does it at all, and even then he's slow. Then I start moving around doing other things and he stops fultonign to follow me. And really? Fultoning every single soldier at 300gmp each in an area would cost a lot less than my over 100k deployment cost.

Having money troubles? Sell a **** ton of biological resources. I always had plenty and they're never used.

And I haven't had trouble with staff, I don't care about people being replaced, since I fulton so much. Plus, I keep my waiting room empty. I literally fire anyone who is in there.
User avatar #26 to #25 - bossguycumsplash (10/09/2015) [-]
I used the Tranq Sniper for a while but since I unlocked non lethal grenade launchers I carry the .50 cal.
User avatar #27 to #26 - demandsgayversion (10/09/2015) [-]
Why? What do you ever not fulton?

I have C4 and Grenades for absolute emergencies, but there's nothing I wouldn't fulton. If I absolutely have to destroy a helicopter, I just use placed weapons or have my rocker launcher dropped in.
User avatar #28 to #27 - bossguycumsplash (10/09/2015) [-]
I Fulton every solider s rank and higher, as I said Non-Lethal grenade launchers ( Smoke, Stun, and Sleep) its kinda op
User avatar #29 to #28 - demandsgayversion (10/09/2015) [-]
Dude, a super upgraded Rovenov (or wahtever) non-lethal sniper knocks dudes out after a second with 1 shot to any body part. Who needs to get everyone on alert with your grenades?
User avatar #30 to #29 - bossguycumsplash (10/09/2015) [-]
I used to do the exact same thing, but going in loud is viable as long as no one actually sees you. and the Rocket arm is just hilarious.
User avatar #31 to #30 - demandsgayversion (10/09/2015) [-]
Rocket arm can get me out of some very specific situations, but it's less useful than any other options I have.

But I do have my base defense loadout for ******* around in side ops. It's the ******** tranq sniper with a stun grenade, a non-lethal sawed off, and the non-lethal shotshell pistol. Just ******* go into anywhere with that and the 3 star body armor and **** **** up, it's super fun. Mostly that ******* shotshell pistol, it's a 1 hit knockout every time on non-lethal. It's a little more powerful than lethal is when you fully upgrade lethal.
User avatar #23 to #17 - muffinofrage (10/09/2015) [-]
Rocket arm is good, but the third stun arm is a non-lethal nuke. Everyone within about 50 meters from you gets instantly downed and I think it even fries some of the machinery.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Remember when I had to argue with a guy over whether this game mechanic was in the game it's a mechanic in? I do.
