> school

the 12 years I've spent in school were a piece of cake.
I gotta admit, I sucked pretty much in all science subjects (+maths), but whatever.
Compared to college, school was almost too easy.

It's like playing the tutorial of Skyrim and then being suddenly at the end of Dark Souls with no Equipment

Got your ass whooped in the tutorial and now you're crying over it.

But don't worry, it's not a game for casuals, sweetheart.

It's a hard game.

I've beat it over 20 times, got all the trophies/achievements, finished all of new game pluses (it gets ******* brutal over time), and I am still playing it.

Well...

All not science subjects like religion, history and biology, might be a piece of cake, some of the science certainly is not. Some ******* decided to make the difficulty of chemistry go up exponentially, making the first years unbelievably easy, ending up to exceed some college levels (the less hardcore stuff).
For physics I think the grades show a pretty decent picture. Physics students got one of the highest averages in the country, but their worst grade is usually always physics.

I had A's (15 - 13 points)'s and B's (12 - 11) in pretty much every subject.
Chemistry: D (4 - 6 points)
Maths: somewhere between "E" (tho itÄs non existential in the US Grades system) and D, so between 1 and 6 points

Short explanation: Starting with class 11, in Germany you get the points system:

0 points = F
1 - 3 = "E"
4 - 6 = D
7 - 9 = C
10 - 12 = B
13 - 15 = A

probably uninteresting, just thought I'd share

I chose not to go to biology/physics and instead had Frenchclasses. It's not really better, but hey, no sciences.

Well, I can only judge from the German "University" system and I don't really know if you can translate one 1:1 to another, but if you visit every lesson it's actually a ******* of work.

I mean, I started with science of law (and quit again, cuz boring as ****), but I had 30h/week + approx. another 30h to learn and selfeducation to deal with the insane amount of stuff you're being asked during exams.

Here, we had like 4 months of studying (October 14th - Feb 1st) and starting from Feb 1st to Feb 20th we have Exams, so many people are feeling a little pressured.

But then again, I have absolutely no idea how it works out in the US.

High school was a ******* of work with way less downtime between exams.

College is like 2-5 exams per 2.5 month period with WEEKS off in between (at least for my area) Not so hard. Which makes me rage thinking about how the highschool teachers qualified their neurotic lessons by claiming that it's to prepare me for the abrasive penetration of college.

Shorter school year doesn't mean easier, and more down time doesn't mean easier either. In university you juggle 5-6 core classes, there's none of that PE, health, basket weaving, ect, ect easy classes. These 5-6 classes are all full caliber thinking required

It's all about going with not just something you love, but something that you are prepared to handle. You went to ****** high school or you were always lazy? I'd suggest you forget about any high-end stuff like medicine or engineering.

But there are always alternatives. Personally, I could have enrolled in one of toughest and most prestigious engineering colleges in my country, but decided to go with their "rival", a generally well-known college of a mix of programming and economics with a reputation of being pretty easy. And guess what, it is ******* easy. Since I went to a pretty strong high school, I breezed through first year like it was nothing, and am still going pretty strong in second year.

So, again, its all about finding something suitable for you. Don't force something that you aren't capable and/or prepared to deal with, you'll just end up wasting both money and time.

Don't listen to him. College isn't that bad. If you're okay with more independent work then you're fine.

In highschool your workload was generally pretty constant. Math worksheet every night, read 1 chapter for a couple questions for english 2 times a week, history quiz every friday etc. There was some variance, some nights are more stressful than others, but in general its fine.

College is when you've got a lot of freetime most of the time, except one in a while where you've all of a sudden got a 10 page paper, 4 tests, and a whole bunch to do in a couple of days.

Of course, it really does depend on what your major is too. If you want to be absolutely miserable for 4+ years you can be an engineer (Which is what I imagine a lot of funnyjunk is, along with computer science majors). Then there's things like being a philosophy major where for the first time you'll look forward to school, but you'll end up with a pretty useless degree.

School is just a building you go to for 6-7 hours a day in order to be assigned a number that dictates how intelligent you are.

If only we could take classes that we actually took an interest in instead of wasting time in Government and Economics (neither of which actually taught me anything that I didn't already know).

Generally those are to ensure that the populace has a basic understanding at least. One of the USA's founders greatest fear was that the populace wouldn't know **** about government and would vote like a bunch of retards.

It'd be good if instead you could test out of classes whenever and not just skip them entirely. Voters and consumers are already somewhat retarded, let's not make it worse.
