The Japanese version was different. Most of the German submarines that carried the blueprints to Japan were destroyed, so Japan's version was completed with their own modifications. It wasn't as good as the German one.
Japan bought the design plans off Germany in order to build an interceptor capable of tackling the B-29 Superfortress, it was bought for 20 million Deutschmarks I believe and one of the two subs that was carry everything the japs needed to build the plane was sunk so they had to make do with what they got.
Coming from someone with multiple tier Vs the 163 is decent but the Ki-200 is the superior.
The Ki-200s cannons have a higher velocity, the only REAL thing separating the two aircraft but it makes a big difference.
Also dont grind the Yak 15s they're ****
So is the FAA line minus the Hurricane
And the 162
and the Kitsuka
Its a nice plane, but lord I love the look of my F-84. That thing with all of its bomb and rocket loadouts make it a wonderful companion in ground forces.
It is most certainly the looks that make the plane, no doubt about that. It could be a 500hp engine block with some wings and a prop stuck to the front of it with nothing but a spud gun but as long as it's got a pretty sweet finish then it's top of the list for me.
To be fair, they also did(it was larger then, but compared to Russia's...) back in the Russo-Japanese War where they shat on Russia so hard Nicholas II cried himself to sleep.
have some sort of source of that information. i know they arent allowed to have a millitary for any other purpouse of defence after ww2 but i dont see why that makes they're defence small. if anything it would sense that it got bigger.
Japan is tiny because it exists in America's shadow- which is why Japan still exists as an independent nation despite living right on the edge of a country like China.
**** with Japan, **** with America. Russia hasn't done **** about the islands they both claim because America is there, watching carefully. Of course it's a stalemate because America doesn't want to get in bed with russia and what America wants, Japan must deal with. But that's a different story.
The Japanese SDF is one of the best equipped non-aggressive armies in the world, and Article 9 only stops them from having a standing army, or engaging in aggressive war.
Also, I can't remember for certain, but I'm fairly sure Russia and Japan never went to war during WWII.
The US and Japan also have a Treaty of Mutual Defense and Security treaty. The treaty established that any attack against Japan or the United States perpetrated within Japanese territorial administration would be dangerous to the respective countries' own peace and safety. It requires both countries to act to meet the common danger.
Basically a Russian invasion/declaration of war on Japan would kick-start the Third World War
The Japanese invaded parts of Russia between 1900 and the start of the world war. They even sacked just about the entire Russian Pacific fleet at an attack quite alike that of Pearl Harbour and occupied and settled Hokkaido simply so the Russians couldn't.
So sure, they didn't go to war during World War 2,(or they did, but that was in the last week of the Japanese surrender) but the Japanese-Soviet relations were pretty much strained. Especially considering the Japs invaded China in the middle of the Chinese communist revolt, basically denying Russia an ally in China until the end of World War 2 as China had their hands full fighting the Japs.
Russia invaded Japanese occupied Manchuria at the very end of WWII, the Russians had pledged to attack them post German defeat, If i remember correctly. A few days before the Japs met the Fat Man and Little Boy.
Japan first didn't plan to accept defeat after the two nuclear bombs. It was only after it was clear that Russia would land in Japan sooner than the US could that they decided to surrender to the US because they rather lose from the US than be occupied by communists. True story.
Japan was an ally of Germany so technically after Russia joined forces with The Allies, they were Japan's enemy. The only other instance I know about was when Russia tried to invade Japan and failed miserably, but I don't remember the era that occurred in.
Russia though? I've yet to be afraid of any enemy the US has had, but a war with Russia and I'd consider leaving the northern hemisphere. I think both sides don't want that to happen, so I imagine neither country would attack an ally of the other. Russia v US is a scary ass concept. I'd say we'd absolutely defend Japan against any other country, but less absolutely if it is Russia. We'd have to think long and hard about that one.
I don't think Russia has a fleet capable of getting through the Seventh fleet we have positioned next to Japan. They have numbers but their overall low quality in equipment and that would probably be the deciding factor here.
Plus, ya know, the might of the United States Air Force that is on 6 month rotational deployments to Guam (along with some Naval capabilities as well) which usually includes multiple squadrons of Strike Eagles and sometimes B2s. Not to mention the permanent U.S airbases in Japan along with a slew of carrier-based air squadrons that typically cruise and dock in that region...so there's always that.
I usually just go right on passed these comics but i'll just stop here for a moment to give my two cents.
I intensely dislike the written in accent kind of thing, it's either difficult or annoying to read and i don't see the need for it. Go ahead and thumb me down if you will, i just figured i'd drop my opinion off at one of these comics one day and see what happened.
Not everyone will enjoy every form of anything they come across, let alone humor. You don't enjoy it and that's ok. I personally enjoyed all of the parts you didn't, so I'd say you should just keep on ignoring polandball-related posts as they're not your thing, but not because there's necessarily something wrong with the content itself.
Anywho.
Yeah, i almost said as much actually.
I doubt it's going to change anything or anything like that and i'd feel bad if it did honestly cause i'm sure that's the main attraction for the people who like it, just always figured i'd post my opinion one of these days and so now i have.
k.
Though i get the feeling you didn't cause you got mad and thumbed me down. Usually people wait until they know they disagree before they thumb an opinion down.
You already did.
So now i've got one question? y u so mad, bro?
It's almost like nobody told you people online can have opinions you don't like without you getting all pissey about it. So do me a favor and unbunch those pantys for me, K?
"Ma'am, if you're ready, we've received a photograph of the fighter jet that killed your husband in battle"
"Yes, thank you general, I think I'm finally ready"
"Okay, keep in mind that these Japanese pilots strike fear in even a hardened soldier's heart; Here you go"
".... are you ******* kidding me"
most invasions are for natural resources
japan got squat **** in natural resources so the only scenario i see japan getting invaded is to obliterate them
oh i met some Japanese sailors when i was partisapating in RIMPAC who had their own thoughts about the whole "stay out of it" thing, but hey that was only the opinion of 5 people
no one can fight Russia, they have tzar bomba, which is like 40x bigger than the bomb dropped in Hiroshima/ ********** . if tzar bomb goes out the whole planet goes with it.
A few big bombs which at this point have been decommissioned or are under maintained cannot compare to the NATO arsenal of fully functional, state of the art, slightly smaller bombs.
If they are losing, chances are the bomb is already handled.
Because the first thing to be handled is, and always should be, disabling the thing that could kill the lot of you.
The Tsar Bomba detonated at 11:32 (Moscow time) on October 30, 1961, over the Mityushikha Bay nuclear testing range (Sukhoy Nos Zone C), north of the Arctic Circle over the Novaya Zemlya archipelago in the Arctic Sea. The bomb was dropped from an altitude of 10.5 kilometres (6.5 mi); it was designed to detonate at a height of 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) over the land surface (4.2 kilometres (2.6 mi) over sea level) by barometric sensors
***** are you sure. because i learned about this bomb in college and the "the nuclear fallout will take the whole planet" was mentioned man times. this was in 1961, maybe the newer one is the ones are the ones cuz it says development 1961- present
"To limit fallout, the third stage and possibly the second stage had a lead tamper instead of a uranium-238 fusion tamper (which greatly amplifies the reaction by fissioning uranium atoms with fast neutrons from the fusion reaction). This eliminated fast fission by the fusion-stage neutrons, so that approximately 97% of the total energy resulted from fusion alone (as such, it was one of the "cleanest" nuclear bombs ever created, generating a very low amount of fallout relative to its yield). There was a strong incentive for this modification since most of the fallout from a test of the bomb would have ended up on populated Soviet territory."
They still have the capabilities to produce the bomb again obviously, and they most likely already have, multiple times.
I may be wrong but I thought that the main concern with detonating a 100Mt bomb, and thus releasing 100Mt of energy(heat) would cause all sorts of climate ******* , not necessarily nuclear fallout.
technically xsap wasn't entirely wrong. the soviets built two tsar bomba's, one of which was detonated like we all know, but the second one was "deactivated" and is currently on display in a russian war museum.
Hold on, I'm not a history buff so could someone please explain this? Was Japan being Japan and just didn't want to sign a peace treaty? With Russia of all nations?
TLDR: They have been fighting over Kuril Islands like forever( and they still are fighting over them) and japan has been, and is very, very anti-russia ( 72% of japans population view russia unfavorably). The current politic view in japan is, (to my best knowledge) that russia "robbed" the Kuril Islands in early 1900 century without declaration of war so they should be the ones to apologize to japanese and offer peace treaty.
Hope this helps
Thank you for that, and Jesus Christ. Russia, if a big war breaks out, would stomp Japan into fine dust. Go ahead and hate the guys, but don't spit at the bear and just say uncle. God knows that they don't want to deal with Putin.
They would not.
"But the Japanese army is so bad"
The Japanese army is the American army. They have a Defence pact that pretty much says that if ANY country occupies Japanese ground America will enter the war on the side of the Japanese. TL;DR attacking Japan is attacking America.
And before you say "Well there's no guarantee they'll follow up on this." There is. Japans importance to America and the western world as a whole is just about second to America and China only. What's more, Japan owes an astonishing 10 Trillion USD. In comparison, USA owes 13 Trillion USD. What this means is that SHOULD Japan enter a war/be occupied, the people Japan owes its money to would never receive it. Which would result in hell a lot of lobbying in order to get it back.
But the most important pact is that America has to defend Japan. If they fail to do so, ANY country they've demilitarilized and said "We will act as your Defence" will burn their treaties and begin to grow their own army. I mean, if USA wont act on it when the Japanese, their biggest business partner in the world (as China = US relations are rather cold) is invaded by Russia, a country most Americans utterly despise, why the hell would they act if Libya was invaded by Egypt? Not saying they have a similiar treaty with Libya, but you get the idea.
Great post. Would just want to point out that Japan is far from the biggest business partner for the US. There is almost three times more trade between the US and Canada than between the US and Japan. Also, Mexico and China is also a bigger business partner than Japan.
And I addressed the China part. They do more trade with China, but are on colder terms with them, and with India working hard to replace China as "Factory of the World" I don't think it'll last for that long.
What's more, because of the situation with the Senkaku isles, America is in these days showing PRETTY big muscles. They flew two B52 bombers over Chinese airspace, among other things.
That I can agree with. IF Japan attacks Russia their deals will be made void and Russia will invade, as long as Putin is in power.
But IF Russia invades America will step in and probably split Russia between the European part and the Asian part, like they did with Korea.
TL;DR whoever attacks loses so they should just go sign a ******* peace treaty. But under Shinzo Abe Japan wont do it, and I don't see Putin itching to sign peace and do a formal apology either..
Yeah, I know, but the SDF is not allowed to leave the country. And despite it being almost assured that the United States would step in in a heart beat, it's still not Japan's military like the comic is showing.
So I did a bit of research because of what you said. Turns out rather recently the Self Defense Force was converted into an actual military. However, it is still in their constitution that they will not do anything but defend. So really the SDF still stands.
There's a big difference between Japan and the Zulus and Indians the other Europeans were fighting. Also, the UK lost a war in Africa but that was due to a surprise attack.
Zulus and Indians were not a nation and never even came close to fighting with canons vs canons, battleships vs battleships, or army vs army. They were little more than tribes fighting colonial forces (lightly armed and meant to control people who fought with inferior arms and tactics.
Japan was the first on Western nation (power) to defeat a Western power in a full blown war and it shook the world at that time.
part of the Unconditional Surrender Japan signed that they shall no longer have a military force for acts. but rather a self defense force. I.e. Military with no spine. they mainly will rely on the United States Military for such huge actions.
World War I technically didn't end until 1958, since Andorra declared war on Imperial Germany, but were forgotten about in the Treaty of Versailles and only technically signed peace with Germany in 1958.
With the Way the world is today we should have just left Germany and Japan alone. Now insane Mu-Slims are taking over the world without a much of a fight. At least Germany and Japan were sane.
1. Wouldn't Islam still be in the world regardless?
2. Wouldn't Germany trying to gather the master race really **** up humans genetically?
3. Beyond the kamikazes and some other things the Japanese did, didn't they (along with Germany) do some ****** up experimentation in the first place?
