I must be the luckiest gamer in the world then since I haven't had to deal with really any of those for any of my Ubisoft games ever.
Been playing Far Cry 3.5 since launch and I haven't had any issues more than minor hiccups.
And **** AI, but that's besides the point.

Also **** Assassin's Creed. Revelations was the last decent one.

I've been playing far cry 4 and I have no problem at all. In fact the game is great.

I stopped playing unity when i climbed a wall three times my height, it got way way too easy with the parkour in my opinion

TBH, I thought Revelations was the ********* of them all.
All new features were just gimmicks.
Well, except the hideout defense itself, that actually added something interesting to the game.
User avatar #205 to #16 - tenaciouslee (12/06/2014) [-]
Are you calling it Far Cry 3.5 because you feel it's repetitive? Or because the mechanics are the same.
#224 to #16 - sposadox (12/06/2014) [-]
I haven't played Black Flag, but I heard it was pretty good. Not really much of an Assassin's Creed game though? Story-wise. Loved Revelation for its gameplay and story.

I haven't had a single problem with Far Cry 4. Best game on PS4 imo, first game I've really enjoyed since The Last of Us on PS3.
User avatar #35 to #16 - voltkills (12/05/2014) [-]
far cry 4 isnt broken, its a very few isolated people who are making alot of noise since AC unity was actually broken. Far cry is pretty well optimized and runs fine.
also black flag... come on.
User avatar #100 to #35 - sideism (12/05/2014) [-]
farcry 4 is probably runs worse than farcry 3, it doesnt have SLI support. which is one of the most important features a graphics intensive game should have
User avatar #104 to #100 - voltkills (12/05/2014) [-]
oh no, a game with far better graphics and more advanced engine runs a little worse what a horror. and many games dont work well with crossfire/ SLI, for most games you dont even need 2 cards to tun on ultra, one high powered card will do, so no SLI isnt one of the most important thing, its a nice additional extra for those who can afford who cards to sqeeeze an extra few fps out.

User avatar #114 to #110 - sideism (12/05/2014) [-]
i seriously doubt the game would even run on your system at all
User avatar #115 to #114 - voltkills (12/05/2014) [-]

User avatar #124 to #115 - sideism (12/05/2014) [-]
sorry, i dont believe you. 50 fps on ultra? with those specs?
you'd have to be ******* crazy to try to run farcry 4 on that hunk of junk
User avatar #128 to #124 - voltkills (12/05/2014) [-]
high =/= ultra, also, hunk of junk, **** you, its hardly a top of the line build but its decent, it can run bf4 on ultra at 30 fps and high at 100 (amd mantle ftw).

User avatar #38 to #16 - miscreant (12/05/2014) [-]
Revelations is by far the worst in the series (not including Liberations).
AC3 had great graphics, fun gameplay and a really good story (including the present time story with Desmond), but the protagonist was nothing short of utter **** .
ACIV was amazing pretty much everywhere, the part where it falls short is that it's not exactly very Assassin-y.
User avatar #73 to #38 - letriggs (12/05/2014) [-]
you know I found the big problem with Connor was I did not like or hate him

he was just sort of an amorphous grey blob. To be honest I would've loved it more if he was a character we could genuinely hate. Like could we not have a moment where he tortured then scalped someone? Like he started doing some really ****** up ****
User avatar #121 to #73 - miscreant (12/05/2014) [-]
Exactly. The biggest problem with Ratohnhaké:ton is that he didn't evoke any feelings or emotions whatsoever in the player, making relating, and even more so, immersion impossible.
My best example of this is when one of his closest friends at the villa asks him to give her away at her wedding, seeing as her father is deceased. Without a single expression on his face, Ratohnhaké:ton agrees to do so.
User avatar #260 to #121 - Silverboss (12/06/2014) [-]
I remember reading about this from an article. Connor was such a serious character because of his heritage as a Native American. Native Americans typically show no emotion and are serious as balls, and that's because of the way the warriors are trained. If you read the book, Assassins Creed: Forsaken, Connor expresses his thoughts and opinions in a way that made me appreciate him more. He even regretted killing his father.
User avatar #261 to #260 - miscreant (12/06/2014) [-]
Despite heritage and cultural appropriation (and that's how you use the term, tumblr, not when a white chick has dreads), no personality does not a good character make.
Now, someone who was real ******* charismatic on the other hand, was the aforementioned father... Great guy.
User avatar #262 to #261 - Silverboss (12/06/2014) [-]
I totally agree. They focused too much on making a (somewhat) historically accurate character rather than making him interesting.
User avatar #126 to #121 - letriggs (12/05/2014) [-]
the ending annoyed me too

they *********** the canon by implying that he died sat at that table in the bar but he could not have died then cause he had not passed on his genes and if he did Desmond couldn't have seen it because that is not how the genetic memory system of the animus works as they have outlined throughout every other game
User avatar #201 to #126 - severepwner (12/06/2014) [-]
What are you talking about?

He went in there, killed Charles Lee took the key and left. It was never implied he died. Especially since he went back to his home to find it empty and hid the key in Connor Davenport's grave.
User avatar #279 to #201 - letriggs (12/06/2014) [-]
I don't remember that. I may have to go back and look at the ending again
User avatar #281 to #279 - severepwner (12/06/2014) [-]
Yeah I literally just replayed the entire AC franchise before I played Unity. Imagine my disappointment when I found out it's still unplayable?
User avatar #130 to #126 - miscreant (12/05/2014) [-]
Well, they never mentioned if he banged someone during the 16 years of training or not. For a lack of better explanation, I'll just roll with that.
User avatar #265 to #130 - deadlydong (12/06/2014) [-]
in the game he is a virgin. after he marries some blonde chick they separate and then spends the rest of his days alone until he takes on a new apprentice.
User avatar #134 to #130 - letriggs (12/05/2014) [-]
but then you wouldnt've seen that last bit

what they say is when an ancestor impregnates someone that in turn is a direct ancestor that you cannot see any more of the ancestor

example, when Altair sexed that women Desmond stayed in the women as opposed to going off with altair. And when Edward had Haytham you could not see anything more through Edward's eyes
User avatar #143 to #134 - miscreant (12/05/2014) [-]
Besides, if it worked exactly as you described it, we'd see more of Jennifer Scott, Edward's firstborn. I know what you mean, seeing as it must be down in a straight line to Desmond, I'm just trying to make a point.
User avatar #146 to #143 - letriggs (12/05/2014) [-]
I see your point but as far as I can tell it does go in that straight line system from Demond upwards
User avatar #138 to #134 - miscreant (12/05/2014) [-]
Ah, but they're still genetically connected to them. I think it's a common occurrence rather than a rule.
User avatar #87 to #73 - thefates (12/05/2014) [-]
In all honesty that's probably what the original character design team had in plan for Connor but it's probable it just got taken out for racial reasons by higher ups.
User avatar #89 to #87 - letriggs (12/05/2014) [-]
most likely

I just really wanted to hate him but he just had **** all emotion

and correct me if I'm wrong but in that time a native village being destroyed was sort of a weekly occurrence right? So why the **** did connor spend 50 years or so getting revenge on charles lee who I swear was slowly turning into a villain from captain planet
User avatar #92 to #89 - thefates (12/05/2014) [-]
I suppose he felt that if he killed Charles Lee, the man behind the hostile expansion, he could save others and get his revenge at the same time.
User avatar #94 to #92 - letriggs (12/05/2014) [-]
I guess but still

3 for me was possibly the weakest because of Connor

and to be honest I was still bummed out by Revelations not going the way I hoped it was going to go with Subject 16

That is the wrong attitude, man my coca cola has been tasting less sweet recently well better steal it instead of paying, no you use your consumer spending power and buy other games and not theirs. This is turn means that other companies will have a competitive advantage and Ubisoft will have to either fix their **** or lose out on market share
#65 to #49 - autoxx ONLINE (12/05/2014) [-]
I personally only buy games I have already pirated.
Farcry 3? Loved it, bought it, fought with the legit software, reinstalled the downloaded version.
The Witcher 2? Pirated, liked, bought.
Fallout New Vegas? Owned a week after pirating.
Starcraft series? Still pirated, **** DRM! If I could play offline I would own it.
Skyrim? Check, check, and double check!

I ******* HATE DRM! My internet connection is **** but at least with a torrent it's DONE! I don't have to wait for the drm to catch up and I can play when I'm off in the boonies somewhere working.

This is how I speak with my wallet.
DRM ******** gets pirated, ****** games get played and deleted, great games get bought.
#254 to #49 - rjgnal ONLINE (12/06/2014) [-]
i get your poit, but you cant really compare piracy to theft
User avatar #54 to #49 - faelysse (12/05/2014) [-]
Well, don't get me wrong, I still buy good games that are worth it (I bought Far Cry 3 for christ's sake), but I usually pirate the games that are not worth of the price they're sold for. Like, AC:Unity is not total crap when it's "free" or for some decent price. If it was for +- 30 bucks, I wouldn't complain that much either. But 60 dollar game better be the best ************* game out there. And AC: Unity is not that

The CocaCola example is good, but I think that comparing beverage company and game company doesn't work.

PS: Sorry for the long meaningless post, I really suck at expressing my thoughts, especially in english (not native speaker)
#60 to #54 - mezasocoolah (12/05/2014) [-]
Then you could wait until it goes on sale maybe. But when it comes down to it people who pirate generalise the whole PC gamer market and makes us look bad to companies, and a businesses first an foremost mandate is sadly making profit. I understand where peoples frustrations come from but yeah we tremendous power through our money.
User avatar #258 to #36 - slugnugget (12/06/2014) [-]
yeah guess we better tell console gamers to stop buying pre owned games too...
User avatar #44 to #36 - overdrives (12/05/2014) [-]
Since PC market share is 60% bigger than consoles, I guess the problem comes from Ubisoft, not the gamers, coz they obviously spend their money somewhere ...
#47 to #44 - mezasocoolah (12/05/2014) [-]
Uhhh I don't know where your getting your stats from, but consoles are much much larger than PC

#76 to #71 - mezasocoolah (12/05/2014) [-]
Yeah I realised that after I posted it, my bad and I think from reading through some articles that PC is probably on par or higher, but then my argument for that is how many of those people are people that only play LoL or DoTA. Quite a few kids that used to go to my highschool and uni used to say they were "PC Gamers" but only played LoL or DoTA and would never even think of buying another game on steam etc
#81 to #76 - mezasocoolah (12/05/2014) [-]

I kinda like Watch Dogs. It's not a perfect game, and it was overhyped as **** , but I enjoyed it more than GTA 5 (although GTA is a lot more polished). I'm just not so much into "crime" games, and while you do crimes in Watch Dogs, its a means to an end, you are trying to save your family during the game.

In GTA its just a bunch of characters trying to make money, and I don't find that goal as compeling. Same with Saint's Row, but I like that game for the absurd humor.

Assassin's Creed is a series that should take a time out and return in a few years, like Splinter Cell did. Its a good IP that is getting ruined by yearly release greed.
