The simple solution is then to not stand up for any collective's rights, but for the individual. To stand for the rights of one is to stand for the rights of all. The "greater good" is most often used in a way that implies some people's rights are superior to other people's right. Why does anyone's rights need to be sacrificed at all? It's a false dichotomy.
