it's nice to see that it takes a dutch word to describe a form national racism. because English was to lazy to think of one.

There is a reason why Afrikaans is most closely related to Dutch, you know. Not everywhere that had a racist regime was the result of the British.

Apartheid isn't though. While many adjectives have nouns with -heid behind it, doesn't mean if you put -heid after anything it becomes a noun.

From my understanding..
Long story short, whities ****** over the Africans just because we could really.
And most of Europe was in on it, calling dibs on parts of Africa for years. Lots of racial segregation involved, didn't make people very happy.
Started back in the late 1700's I think... finally ended officially in the 1990's.

My history teacher in high school never mentioned apartheid once. But he would go on and on about how terrible we were to Native Americans. I think I would have rather learned about this, considering it's much more recent.

The Native American board schools ended in the 60's, since then it's been mostly stuff on reservations being in terrible conditions. Otherwise we haven't don much. Apartheid was in the last 50 years. Plus we talked about segregation for about a quarter of the year and never once mentioned apartheid. I still would have liked to learn about it, it was relevant.
