Tree can cause foundation damage and early on set to termites. Plus depending on how you build the structure around the tree it can also cause bad insulation.
The house I grew up in had a few trees around. One in the front yard, a few in the back yard. Some were really ******* big, some rather small but still sizeable. So I know a few somethings or other when it comes to houses and trees. And let me tell you, trees will **** you up.
Imagine a big metal pole, with other metal poles coming off of it. That's what a tree is usually like, to the naked eye - unmoving, big, solid, and prettier than a metal pole (by most descriptions).
Now, imagine a big metal pole, with lots of other metal poles coming off, except that the other metal poles occasionally come off. Usually they're fine, but when there's a storm, or a car crash, or something, some of the metal falls off. And that **** can be heavy. Sure, a thin rod or even a pole the size of your arm might not do much damage, but we're talking about a massive ******* chunk here, and that **** will crush you, put a hole in your roof, shatter your windows, smash your car, or down your power lines. And that's not even including if the whole damn thing falls over, in which case there's a 30% chance that your house is gonna look like it's been folded in half.
Now, in addition to this, imagine that this metal grows. Slowly but surely, each pole extends, makes new poles on its ends, and the poles underground do the same. You think this big metal thing is out of the way, but a few months, or at best years, down the line, it's tangled in your cables, it's reaching precariously out over your house and car, and in general it's just being a nuisance and a hazard.
You can pay a guy $100 every year to trim any bits that might be hazardous, or you can pay a guy $300 to take away the problem for good. Choice is yours. But you must choose, because unlike the big metal rods that we sometimes think of trees as, they're actually quite fragile - and if any part breaks, it means an ass-load of repair bills on your house.
Because paying a couple of blue collar workers to cut it down and not having special plans to have your house not get damaged and have complications decades later is a lot easier and cheaper. Obviously these people have money to build around it. Hell Id just go get one of those shotguns that shoots seed and go to some forrest in my helicopter and have a field day if I was rich and cared so much for trees.
Simple.
A tree is living matter.
A growing dandelion can shatter asphalt.
Imagine what a tree could do to the foundation if it grows too much. You certainly can plan around that, but still
And better, imagine if you have to get rid of the tree.
Enjoy the bigger cost for the removal AND getting rid of the hole in the ground.
Yes it looks absolutly heavenly, but it isnt very practical.
Not only that, but that **** attracts bugs. Especially that one with all the bushes at the bottom, **** that **** . Spider city right there. The only one I would want is that one with the glass around the tree, to keep those bugs out
