The prequels would've been fine movies if they didn't **** all over the legacy of the originals. Not great, but fine. Lucas is still great at creating fantastic worlds, a new IP from him would be welcome news to me.

johrai (01/11/2016) [-] He sold the IP and couldn't legally make more SW. It's over. Besides, faith in him is kinda broken after the duel groin kick; the prequels followed by selling the IP to DISNEY of all things.
I think we have a true generational gap with the trilogies. Old SW fans detest the prequels as much, or nearly as much, as the Force Awakens; getting the whole universe of lore **** on if kinda a blow. Followup with the Force Awakens, almost unarguably a simple rehash of Episode 4 with more CGI and the entire movie stinks of a cash grab.
In any case, Lucas ran out of good ideas and tried to capitalize on his legacy, which was a great legacy.

Why do you think "Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" were so good? While the prequels and remakes sucked monkey dick? All he did was come up with a story for those two, he didnt direct them.
