He also abandoned his wife and child, didn't speak the language, and did not give two ***** about anyone but himself until he was dying and even then this is debatable. Hes a stain.
Except Boba actually had a distinct look. This is just another random trooper who just happens to be using a special weapon. Ain't nobody got **** on Boba "The Bounty Droppa" Fett.
TR-8R stands up, his armor charred, systems failing
not sure how he survived the blast, he drags himself to a crashed x-wing
crawling inside, he is relieved to see the systems are just barely functional
flies back to the mothership... thing or whatever
They repair his armor but the chars still remain
he removes his helmet in the armory
he sees a familiar, uncleaned helmet.
one with dried blood on it
The traitor's helmet.
He dons the helmet as a reminder of what keeps him separate from the traitors.
Loyalty.
Unless there's a difference between the Empire storm trooper armor and First Order storm trooper armor, then he could very well be alive.
Storm trooper armor is meant to disperse the blast, but leave the user unconscious, rather than have armor that is heavy and blocks blasters. So it's very likely if they ever wanted to bring him back
I'm actually hoping they go with Boba making it out of the pit idea. He would be very old, but seeing him show up would be awesome. I wanted to see him come back with a vendetta against Han and Luke But we all know that cant happen with Han now...
It would be one hell of a stretch, but the similarities between Phasma and Boba, strikes me. What if Phasma is Boba's daughter or some other relation. They both have distinct costumes and you never see their face. All she needs is a jet pack.
idk Darth Vader was a pussy bitch. He couldn't fight he was out of a paper bag without first crying a solid hour on how hard is life is being a awesome jedi
Fett has slain force users, you can debate canon sources and what not but Boba has hunted and killed jedi. Hell his dad killed a dozen jedi without a blaster. Jango Fett killing a force user is how the clone army was created in the first place, and if Jango can kill jedi why not his perfect replica son?
Not to say Boba is more powerful than Vader, because that's just *********
Wrong! Jango has killed force users. He shot one to **** right in front of Dooku. And he died to Mace Windu because his jet pack got ****** by bad luck. Plus there was his whole fight against Obi-Wan, obviously he handled himself very well in it.
But Jango had been trampled by a space rhino, had his jetpack damaged, and was up against the single most powerful jedi master in the order. Look at what he did to Kenobi with his jetpack active, had it not been broken by space rhino thingy he likely could have at least avoided his fate.
And to say Jango never killed force users is just plain ******* wrong. The movies confirm at the least two are canon, the one that he shoots on the balcony, and Komari Vosa (which can be confirmed by Jango saying he was recruited on a moon of Voga by Tyrannus where that battle took place)
Mandalorians have battled and killed Jedi for centuries, they are the only non-force user that has been as adept at killing Jedi as Mandos was Grievous. Sure they dont have training to specifically kill Jedi, but obviously their fighting tactics allow them to do so. That's probably one of the reasons Palpatine used Mandalorian drill sergents to train the clone army.
also how good was she with the light saber. how she had never flown the millenium falcon and she was an expert at doing it. how she was so good with the pistol. She was too good with everything even though she didnt have any training. In the IV Luke was a little useless (he did nothing but hit in the target with his x-wing) until he found Yoda and trained with him to become a jedi. Rey was just too good with everything and it kinda took the thrill away
^^^^^ my thoughts exactly. I understand that they're trying to establish that she's strong with the force, but that doesn't mean they had to make her god-level at everything.
Well, based strickly on the movies, Ren was more powerful than Darth Vader (this is of course only because technology and fight choreographing is better nowdays, but still). Rey still beats Ren. The hero not just beats, but destroys the villain in the first film. Kylo Ren was taught by both Luke Skywalker and Snoke for probably over a decade, so she better habe a good reason why she was able to beat him. The blaster wound didn't seem to affect him after the fight with Finn and even with it he should've been more powerful imo.
Still, pretty much my only "big" problem with the film. It's still my favourite Star Wars film.
She's like the female Viggo Mortensen, not that she looks like him. But they're both people who are much more attractive the dirtier and sweatier they are.
Random dude comes out of nowhere, sees a lightsaber, and decides that, yeah, time to fight somebody using the deadliest melee weapon in the galaxy with a stun tonfa thingie. Then, he pretty much wins the fight with ease.
This reply may be late but anyways if that storm trooper has a weapon that is unaffected by a light saber he most likely has advanced training with it. And remember that Finn was your standard storm trooper which means he would have very little melee weapon training. Conclusion storm trooper beating Finn was kinda expected.
Well, yeah, judging from his ballistic shield and stun baton, he was a special squaddie. But, for the millions of people out there who only watch the movies and don't read the comic books, novels, or play any of the games, they've never seen a guy with a melee weapon beat the **** out of a guy with a lightsaber, even though it happens all the time outside of the trilogies. So, their minds were blown, and a meme was born.
>random ass storm trooper that bodies main character for about 5 minutes on screen
>now a giant ass meme
not what i expected to be a meme was expecting Kylo's childish fits to be more of a meme
now, i just got done posting about how i saw about 1/4th of the movie before falling asleep drunk, but, the first thing i noticed about the movie is how they tried to get mad progressive about it. i dont mind a strong female lead, but it seems to me like they had to dumb down fins character and make him into some kind of pussy who only seems to want to get out of the order because hes afraid. again, didnt see the whole movie, but in the opening scenes the first thing i noticed was how they had to make a point to show you that the female lead is strong and the male lead is the big dumb scared comic relief. why couldnt she just be strong and he also be equally as strong? dont try and force **** down my throat i just came to see you guys do justice after the last 3.
i dont want to believe it, but i could kinda see it ending up that way. i have these anti-fem tendencies that will turn me off to something as soon as i see that type of **** . i recognized it and my drunk self tried to stomach it, but it really did make me a little sick inside. im not trying to go full blown fedora here either its just something that happened in MY life recently has me on one of those " **** feminism" kicks for a week or two so it was kinda just bad timing to go spend 16 dollars on a 3D movie, just to see that.
There was no feminism in the movie. Rey was no different than Luke or Anakin, aside from not having a dick. Literally there is only one line that is on the verge of being too on the nose Fin grabs Rey's hand and she yells that she knows how to run without him holding her hand but aside from that her gender is never mentioned or forced upon the viewer. If you were really interested in enjoying the movie you wouldn't have gone drunk. Don't blame you falling asleep on the main character's gender, that's just stupid, you were drunk your opinion of the movie is invalid Lord of the Rings is my favorite series and I fall asleep all the time when I watch it drunk
well he kind if is a coward in a lot of it. but that's just his character rather than anything to do with feminists. plenty of cowardly dudes in the world, it makes him more interesting to watch develop than if he was just bad-ass all the way.
I was just waiting for this **** to pop up. I swear to god, as soon as there's a female lead FJ rants about how it's "forced diversity". You guys are like the SJWs on Tumblr ranting about how all the movies with white heroes are racist.
Rey was sick. **** anyone complaining or even celebrating the fact that she's a female leading character. Stop making it such a big deal! Just let cool characters be cool without making it about being progressive or whatever
I had no problem with Rey. It didn't feel like her character was forced because they wanted a female lead. I've heard the racecard arguments with fin but he's a supporting character at best. I normally hate SJWs but I just don't see it here. he gets his ass beat in every fight and just looks like a fool every time he makes a decision
Well I know Kylo was wounded, but it is crazy that Ren pretty much defeated him. Force sensitive or not, she had no training at all. And I think they should have left Ren's mask on. He totally lost his intimidation factor. I also don't like how the story line seems old hat. After the empire was defeated, they let a new empire take it's place? And Luke ran off like Kenobi after Kylo went full Darth.
You didn't use spoiler, but all right! First point! Rey Winning over Rey. There is many factors to that battle, that many has pointed out. Emotional unstable (He just killed his father), The wound, being in unbalance with the force and some also pointed he used a lot of energy when he threw Rey 15 feet into a tree, etc.
Where as to Rey, no formal Training no... But she knew how to use a weapon and how to defend herself very well and if you analyze the battle, Rey is running away for the most part of it and Kylo is always on top, but he grows weaker by each second. Also he hold a bit back because as he says to Rey (I can show you the ways of the force) he might not ever intended to kill until he got the answer.
She is force sensitive, just like Luke... She could already fight so when she let go and listened to the force it gave her a pretty good boost against a very weakened Kylo Ren, who isn't fully trained might I add.
It is just as much as Luke managed to shoot two torpedos down a two meter wide shaft into the death star... A shot near impossible without the help of a computer, let alone without. He lets go and listens to the force and BAM, miracle.
But in the end, with this fight, no matter what it really depends if you like it this way or not, but I highly thought that fight was plausible.
All right, point 2! The mask. I think it was the whole point him looking kinda like a whimp. He was never supposed to be this badass, he just pretended to be one... A peacock that puffs up all his feathers to look impressive. The character wasn't fully evil yet and he needed to be humanized to still make people believe he could be turned back to the light side. He strives to be Darth Vader, but all he is was a kid who still had much and much to learn about everything. So in the end, I think this one is 100% preference if you like him or not. He is a character and deep one, the question is just if you like the character presented before you.
Point 3, THe first order being powerful. It states that The First order is only remnants of the Empire, so they are not as powerful, far from really (or at least not as much control in the galaxy). ANd they even had trade routes and under trade restrictions by the republic(I think!). But yea, I do also think it is kinda ******** they the republic never noticed building a planet sized death machine... Especially when they were under supervision.
Point 4, Like hiding. I think it was he was just ashamed to look anyone in the eyes... He couldn't bare looking Han and Leia, his sister and best friend, in the eyes and tell them he failed THEIR SON, his nephew. Also brought unbalance to the force, yet again.
When he felt Han Solo's Death he then allowed them to find them through R2-D2, ( I speculate that he put R2 in some sort of Sleep mode and activated him through the force, but we will see).
So the difference between him and Kenobi is actually huge. Kenobi Hid because he HAD TO, or he would be killed. Luke Hid because he was ashamed, not because he had to. He cowered out, instead of trying to make things right. So I think it will also be about Luke's redemption for his failure.
I agree with everything but have a different idea with R2. I think Luke programmed R2 to not wake up until he was near someone related to Luke, other than Leia, or someone that Luke already knew, some theries suggest that she is Lukes daughter, or even that she was another pupil that Luke managed to save and mind swipe. R2 did not wake up until she arrived .
I honestly don't think Rey is Luke's daughter, it would be too obvious... We already have one Skywalker, Kylo. For the same reason that in their marketing they showed Finn with the lightsaber and not Rey and they know most people think that Rey is Lukes daughter and that is also what I think they want us to think.
Storyline wise, I think it makes sense rey's mind was wiped and she was a pupil before sent to Jakku(even though I have my skepticism on that aswell, but we will see), but I just can't get it into my head that if she is indeed lukes daughter he left her on a desert planet AS A SLAVE, or at least without any family or guardians to actually protect her. If that is case, Luke might be like "That was to prepare you, huehue" but I find that as stupid as Ben Kenobi telling Luke "From a cartain point of view, Darth Vader killed Anakin".
I will actually be kinda dissappointed if Rey is Luke's Daughter... Seems to easy and the fact that it goes with the "You have to be a skywalker to be really powerful with the force". I would much rather having her not as the daughter of Luke
I see what you mean, might not have been Luke who left her there, maybe Ren could have had a soft spot for her and did not want to kill her, he did seem to be interested when he heard about a girl from Jakku and after her met her wanted to convert her. Plus Leia probably would have recognized her as her niece when she saw her. On a side note, I hope we get to see something relating to Kenobi, just because he was one of my favorite characters.
Exactly! THere is no way Leia wouldn't react to her... Felt in the force or something. And I do think that there is a connection that they, that he seemed interested in the girl, but that can be seen in two ways
1) That he knows about her.
2) That it was only a statement as in "What girl helped the traitor?" and not necessaliry because that the girl meant anything to him
But I to felt like it was a bit of option 1.
ANd yes, could be awesome! I can't just not see how anything would be blood related to Kenobi. Maybe force connected! Go kenobi!
May have just been the way I perceived it I guess, but I definitely believe that she was once a pupil and someone got her out before **** went down. This movie gave a lot of questions and little answers, but overall I really enjoyed it and actually liked the humor they added to it.
And I loved how they kept many things in the dark for them to be answered later. Many complain about these things, but it will all be much clearer when we have the big picture of everything. Just like how people felt when empire came out and had to wait 3 years to get answers... Many felt unsatisfied back then aswell. SO I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Excellent movie and I enjoyed almost everything about it.
Same here, not sure why everyone wants to know all of the answers at once. What would be left for the other 2 movies in the future? Also, calling it now, someone is going to lose a limb in the next movie. A mentor always dies in the first and a main character loses a limb in the second
I am not completely sure to be honest... I certainly think there will perhaps some kind of references and or insperation of some of the EU characters or just the EU in general. But actually coming back, I don't have an educated guess for that.
