Thats why any RPG with sweet loot need a trade then duel for it system, Like borderlands has, guy ninjas your sweet bling? Start a trade and then duel for it! whoever wins keeps the weapon! Simple as that!
i think everyone has had something ninja'd in a group/raid at one point or another, i remember back in WoTLK having the reins of the black drake ninja'd from my OS group...and i had won the roll, i eventually got one though by soloing the raid at lvl 90 this past February
>Item level jump from Vanilla to BC.
>Spamming Hellfire Ramparts, since that's all that is available for 58's BC wise.
>Disc Priest, nearly all heirlooms.
>Tank is a Blood Death knight, and he's **** at the early level glass cannon spec.
>Penance only slowing the health drain he gets from groups.
>Pulls start getting bigger without me knowing.
>Tank dies, I apologize thinking its my fault. No response.
>About 25% of the way through, Tank pulls Watchkeeper by accident while busy.
> **** hits the fan.
>More cooldowns used than a desperate Retribution Paladin in PVP.
>Watchkeeper dies, some cloth INT shoulders drop, but we don't stop for needs.
>All mobs within 50 yards are coming our way, no individual aggro is seen.
>Salt has been dabbed on me slightly, but we clutch it and continue.
>Approaching Omor, where the mass circle of surrounding orcs are.
>Mana nearly drained.
>Items from Watchkeeper yet to be given.
>See a single arrow hit an orc ahead.
>Surprise surprise, hunters behind the pulls.
>Hunter pulls damn near everything on screen. Almost impressed.
>Tank dies again, both hunter and tank get pissy.
>Tanks mildly upset, but the hunter seems to be popping veins.
>Hunter tells me to "consume a circular bowl of genitals". Along with other things.
>Can't really get mad at that, so I accuse him of the pulls lightly.
>Hunter actually gets mad, calls me **** and to re-roll.
>A moment before I get kicked, I see a single green message.
>(Huntard) has received: [Pauldrons of Arcane Rage].
TL;DR: Hunter responsible for tank deaths needs on healer shoulders.
so wait does WoW's item rolling system allow everyone to need on something, even if their character can't use it? I haven't played since Vanilla please don't hurt me D:
From my knowledge, yes, but it's dependent on the current loot system. Dungeon finder looting systems are all the same, which is the "Need Before Greed" setting. Not all things are "needable" though, even if your stats fit perfectly. I.E. A Restoration Druid cannot need a INT/SPR waistband because it is cloth. The druid is perfectly capable of wearing it, as their usable armor is a level above, but it's designed for a Priest instead. This means that even average dungeon loot can still be class specific, even though they seem extremely rare. As you could probably tell, the pauldrons were capable of being taken by anyone. The item was even fit with spirit, a stat only really useful for healers. Guess some people are just desperate for gold.
thanks for the reply man, it's still a bit confusing to me but then again I haven't seen it in action but you've cleared up some of it, ffxiv arr (which i play) loot system sounds way better tbh but i can't really draw a comparison
