Congrats. You can use Wikipedia.
We don't need anymore ****** comps with surface-level facts that any idiot can find with a quick Google search.
It's really a shame they classify this as "Original" content. Otherwise autists like you wouldn't be ******* spamming the front page with them.

I've been thinking about making a comp about Tolkien for a while now but since you beat me to it (with a good post I'll add say) I'll just add some more stuff I thought was cool here in the comments.
1. Tolkien was really good friends with C.S. Lewis, the author of the Chronicles of Narnia. They often met at Oxford to read each others stories and give feedback.
2. While fighting in France in WW1, Tolkien lost many of his closest friends from England in the same battle. One of his friends, on the day of his death sent Tolkien a letter, I don't remember the exact words but it was something along the lines of " if I die in this war I am comforted by the thought that you will be alive to keep writing and carry on with our work" (writing of fantasy and poetry).
3. Tolkien's son Christopher (still alive today) fought in WW2 and even helped his father write the Lord of the Rings during the war, sending letters back and forth with edits.
Just a few more tidbits from another Tolkien fan, good work!

I´m satisfied - you can keep the name

You should have explained, why exactly the gravestone-engraving is so bittersweet.

I'm currently reading "The Hobbit" for the first time and then I'm going to read the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy also for the first time so I found this quite interesting.

please do continue making these, but for the love of god check your spelling; it's horrendous to read of someone like J.R.R. Tolkien while seeing misspelled words everywhere.

So tolkienexplain, what's your opinion on Chris Tolkien? is he a cunt or is he a cunt? Kinda annoys me how he bitches about what the franchise has become, but still gets money from it. And do you think his writings were any good?

Hey tolkienexplain, I'm trying to make something like this with the explain that I work with (Psychexplain) but I need somebody who can put something like this together, with me providing the information. If you can get back to me ASAP, I'd appreciate it. Thanks

I've read up on him.

Fun fact: He'd make up stories about all his characters as bedtime stories for his kids, then they'd be told at parties and holidays to his family members. He was told to publish them, so he did. And thus, one of the most amazing things in the world was born.
