I don't get that, why do people think America is such a terrible country? What did they do?

America is the only (Not ******** ) country, established recently, it's 200 years old rather than more than a 1000. When the new kid in a group does great people get jealous, when he ***** up people are too harsh and he was a mistake.

Yeah but at least most of our fact haters aren't voted into office.

I dunno, take a gander over at the bible belt sometime, look at Ben Carson and Trump sometime, and go look at fox news, where even if they aren't elected, they can spew ******** and literal 100% fabrications and still be millionaires with people arguing they're somehow better than NBC because "at least they aren't democrats"
User avatar #164 to #163 - heartlessrobot (12/06/2015) [-]
Nobody supports Carson, and while Trump has some stupid **** , he still has some good ideas and is probably going to be best for the Economy, out of the Candidates.

yeah, like how you can make millions by declaring bankruptcy over and over, because THAT'LL get us out of the hole also, because your statement was "lalalala no he isn't"

“When I was growing up, autism wasn’t really a factor, And now all of a sudden, it’s an epidemic. Everybody has their theory. My theory, and I study it because I have young children, my theory is the shots. We’ve giving these massive injections at one time, and I really think it does something to the children.”

User avatar #240 to #205 - mistafishy (12/08/2015) [-]
But I wouldn't want a president who'd still be wasting time on policy that won't pass just to push their right wing agenda. What are his "good policies?"
User avatar #241 to #240 - heartlessrobot (12/08/2015) [-]
Mostly cutting tax loopholes for the rich, opening up relations with Russia to see if we can stop Cold-war level arming of the middle east (ie "moderate islamic groups" vs Bashar Al-Assad), penalize companies for sending jobs overseas, give incentive for keeping jobs and production within the US, fix up the budget, just off hand.
User avatar #238 to #205 - mistafishy (12/08/2015) [-]
oohh....

That's good n' all, but 90% of the rest of his policy is still trash. Mexico wall, ban on Muslim immigration, smiting ISIS personally... like, nah I ain't about any of that.
User avatar #239 to #238 - heartlessrobot (12/08/2015) [-]
Yeah but at least he could never actually act on his trash policies. The only ones he has the power to do are his good ones.
User avatar #236 to #205 - mistafishy (12/08/2015) [-]
so he's trying to make what is now doing wrong legal...???

That could translate to making murder legal. just a comparison, but still...
User avatar #237 to #236 - heartlessrobot (12/08/2015) [-]
No, he wants to make what he's doing now ILLEGAL, so others won't do it, so he doesn't have to do it.

Trump is also calling for higher taxes on the rich. He's even said he would have no problem paying the taxes if other rich people did too, since he needs to stay competitive.
User avatar #187 to #184 - renespar (12/07/2015) [-]
considering there's no way he doesn't dodge taxes harder than most competitors, I feel that's just him lying through his teeth
User avatar #189 to #179 - heartlessrobot (12/07/2015) [-]
That's another thing he has stated he does to keep competitive.
He's already said he plans on closing those loopholes, for himself and other businessmen.
User avatar #203 to #189 - mistafishy (12/07/2015) [-]
That's a huge conflict of interest for him so it's not really a trustworthy statement in my book
User avatar #180 to #179 - heartlessrobot (12/07/2015) [-]
Wanting to drive an economy further into the ground isn't considered a good trait.

Thing is, if you decided to fill your house with wwii items, label what they are and put a tip jar out, that is a museum, just not as big as the major museums.

that aside.

Now that i think about it, yeah, we do have a huge number of museums. I drive past a small civil war museum to get to a nature museum/nature trail.

actually, even the Georgia state capital has an entire wing devoted to preserving GA history.

Archaeologists from the 31st century will ******* love us.

We have an entire Mall of museums in our nation's capital (District of Columbia, Smithsonian). People from around the world go to these museums. We also have some of the largest and well-funded art and history museums in the world. Everyone goes to these museums. People in America are not nearly as stupid as the media has convinced you. Ratios have a lot to do with education statistics. Never forget that the amount of people living in the country Finland live in Los Angeles. We aren't stupid... we just have a **** ton of people here.

Think of how many Vegans there are, think of how almost everyone agrees mcdonald's is **** .

I think he means more people have been to a mcdonalds than there are people that have been to a museum. Like if you took the total number of people that have gone into a mcdonalds, and the total number that have gone to a museum I think he's saying the number would be great for mcdonalds.

Honestly I don't think I agree with him since pretty much everyone whose had a public school education has gone to some sort of museum but I digress.

Maybe not equally many, but considering that some museums are dozens of times larger than a McDonald's, while a home that had a collection is about the same size, the numbers don't need to be equal.

Half of those museums are probably history museums about Starbucks and McDonald's.

Bull ******* ****

Ok I googled it
There are 17.5k museums approximately according to 2015 statistics
There are 14k McDonalds stores according to 2012 statistics (bet that's gone up)
There are 12.5k Starbucks stores according to 2015 statistics

The same page I pulled the McDonalds stats from says they have 35k worldwide. So I bet this article got it's numbers mixed up.

Honestly I think they've just broadened their terms for what is called as a museum. There is no way, absolutely no way, that any one given town has more museums than McDonalds and Starbucks combined. Think about it logistically.
User avatar #162 to #159 - reaperslayer (12/06/2015) [-]
they never said "official museum", also i think some collectors run showings of products time to time and get called a museum due to how much they research the facts cause how much they enjoy the hobby.

there's a lot to consider, they had to have gone to these areas and looked up records, could be outdated ones, could be of "total museums", but i'm just telling you what i found.

if you find more info, I'd be glad to have a look at it as i am curious about this.

Just going to throw this out there. As an American I can say that this is true, but this is a white lie in a way because you're looking at 2 single chains, rather than saying fast food restaurants total they're saying just mcdonalds and starbucks. In reality you drive down the road and there is a Mcdonalds, Wendys beside that, Arbys beside that, Burger King beside that, Sonic beside that, Five guys beside that, Dairy queen beside that, Dairy cheer beside that, Taco bell beside that, KFC beside that, Shoneys beside that, Ponderosa beside that, Little Caesars beside that, pizza hut beside that, papa johns beside that, and that's just the tip of the string of restaurant chains that will reside in a single town normally. Even small towns have 5+ restaurants to the singular library and possible museum.

So in reality this still isn't something to be proud of because the majority of people in that town won't visit that musem 1/100 of the times that they will one of the restaurants.

To put it more into perspective, the museums are like an apple tree with many types of apples, whereas the Mcdonalds would be a single type of apple on this giant tree.

1. There are still a ******* of McDicks and Over-priced-bucks
2. They are WAY more frequented by Muricans than museums

1.) There are still a ******* of McDicks in Europe, and at least we didn't out one right in front of the ******* Coliseum
2.) Yeah I guess, but its in the same way all the dudes in your town frequent your moms vagina more than they do the library. It's way more easy to justify eating than going to a a museum especially if you've been to the museum recently
3.) What does this even mean? That the museums are dead/void of business? The MET and every other museum I've been to in NY is always ******* packed
5/5 your comment is bretty guud

What country are you from? I'm ready to lambast it all the same. But it's pretty fair to compare Europe to America since our one country has almost half of your continents population, why the **** would we compare one country that can fit inside Texas three times?
