College is an option you take to further your education and opportunities in life.
Why the **** wouldn't you take it seriously? It costs money and jobs are getting harder and harder to get. If you go to college just to shirk off and not study then you shouldn't have gone in the first place.
i have to be in school 10 years, you tell me it would be easy to do anything for 10 years without some sort of reward and the only thing you get is at the end....
I never meant to say college wasn't difficult. I'm sorry if I come off as someone who doesn't know what he's talking about. Everybody's making me feel like a bad person now.
I was gonna tear a new hole in your ass, like really get in there, bring a whole crew to begin an expedition, I was going to invest in some oxygen tanks and flashlights but I read your other comments and we're cool.
i go to michigan state, prolly would be a an all a student if i wasnt a lazy fat **** , this pic describes me because i would rather do nothing than study, i want a better education but my motivation is equivalent to a sloth
Depends on the country and the college. At my college most people don't give a **** about learning or grades. All they need is the degree and maybe some connections. And not because it's a bad college, but because how much you learn in it simply won't impact that much your chances at a good job.
Which is the reason l work at Wal Mart and have no plans because l know l can't commit to school so why waste money. If nothing turns up that l want to do l'll just enlist or something for the next 30 years.
>Be computer science undergrad
>Take required religious studies class
>"Read pages 105-132 from your textbook"
>No. nothing against religion, just trying to make a point
A lot of private smaller schools do. I go to a small division 3 school, and most of them are affiliated with a church, even though they do literally nothing to promote religion, they make us take a bunch of extra classes under the guise of a "liberal arts education, to make well-rounded individuals" even if you are pre-med or anything. Fair concept. Stupid. But fair.
And be like most other college graduates. Working in a mcdonalds becuase no work history and no job in the field you want or the work history in the field you want so someone else gets it..yay college...
It's because at this point it's almost expected that people get a college education. It's pretty tough to get a job you can survive off of without a college degree. So kids are going to college because they feel like have to: it's almost become like high school. Most people hate doing boring things when their only motivation is that they just should do it. Besides, after 12 years of school it really wears on you.
I go to a top UC and most of the **** they teach is has nothing to do with our major. So hell yeah im going to not care about the circumference of the sun or random GE classes. Even my major classes are not teaching me the How To's of a job, but rather just some useless info ill forget at the end of the quarter. I'm paying for the degree, not the crap education.
You ****** wish you were like me getting full ride and able to party without losing moneeeeyyyyy. Nah jk I have maybe 6 hours of free time per week max and have like a 3.8 right now in college.
People get 'school-tired' no matter their motivation or if it's optional or not. It's fully natural. If you don't understand that, I'm not sure what to say. It's a very well-known thing.
Like I said, people get like that either way. I know plenty of people who have given every effort all the time throughout their early lives but still gotten to the point where they just can't be bothered or can't handle it. Most people do.
At the end of a day motivation is a ******** thing, an employer isn't going to pay you because you 'couldn't be bothered' doing the work so why should it apply differently to university?
It doesn't apply since it won't affect the outcome. I'm just saying, just because people get exhausted and/or burned out/depressed because of all the work and effort and time invested in it doesn't mean they don't take it seriously.
You are a very wise man, hudis. I guess I should have added that while you should take college seriously, a normal person can still get tired out. Sorry about that.
We must use these tools that the great god has given us to fight ******* ..a whip, a noose, a nightstick, a branding iron. These things strike fear into a ******** heart. A job application!
More like middle school after that they don't give a **** if you decide you don't want to read you can just drop out for all they care they still get paid and that's not their responsibility.
