"Check your privilege."
This is a unique saying. Mostly because it spawned on the internet, where no one can see anyone else. I mean, yeah you can send a picture to someone, but that doesn't mean that it's them.
"check your privilege" is basically a cop out. It's a "you just don't understand the argument because you're a straight, white male." (And I swear to ****
if any of you cocksticks out there say the word "cis" to describe us I will reach through my computer screen and tear out your respective reproductive organs)
It's lazy. It's basically giving yourself the power to say that because someone isn't from a demographic that you deem "oppressed" then their opinion just doesn't matter. It's particularly special because you could be saying this to someone who opposes you, but could be from one of those demographics.
to be totally honest, I'm feeling a little oppression. I'm starting to feel more and more, every day that my world is shrinking from people who think like sane human beings. That simply because I was born white, with a penis, liking boobs more than schlong, and in the upper middle class that I am automatically a sexist, racist, oppressive, potential rapist. I don't understand how an entire group of people can say that giving someone a compliment is harassment, or that holding the door for someone shows how weak they are, or that me offering to pay the bill for my date, automatically lessens you in some way, shape, or forme.
You know what? Check your privilege. Make sure you're not overly attended to by people who are just as insane as you are.
