The old Thumbs were iconic and fit better with the straight-edge logo. These ones, while well-made, will have a hard time living up to the legacy of the previous images. Not to mention the practical issue of rendering each and every thumb-related reaction image obsolete until further editing.

Admin wanted to make this site a bit more professional, so he changed the triangle to a green bell. He made the notifications all gray, even got rid of the purple links on that screen. People bitched and bitched until he changed it all back.

The goal of changing the thumb icon was so that it loaded faster for users and was able to be scaled. If you were to convert the old bitmap thumb icon into an SVG, it would still show pixels. Now stop bugging me

You could literally just redraw it for SVG format, which is essentially what was done with this latest change. They still look a little off but it's not really noticeable.
