Well, depending on witch group you do your bible reading with, the old testimant can be considered one of two things.

First is that it's the Jewish law, and customs. Jesus taught the old testament, and when he was killed god decided the Jews needed a learnin' so he provided humanity with the second part of the bible, along with an equal number of prophets and stories, and so on.

Then there's the group who attempt to reconcile the old testamet with the new, and the number of inconsistencies between the two make me wonder how they keep their head from exploding on a day to day basis.

It's just about as much as I could come up with in a 2 minute ponder session, then worded in as simple a fashion as I could come up with.

Basically, most Christians believe the old is a set of stories and histories to give a frame of reference for the new, and that's why it's all still packaged in the same book. Certain other books have been out of the bible for a long time, like the book of Jubalese, witch is a bunch of flying saucer **** .

I've read the bible, it was a long time ago, but I don't recall swallowing jizz. I feel like I would have remembered that one. But seriously, if you're into science fiction, check out the books that have been removed from the bible. ****** really far out.

Oh, yeah, certian parts of the bible have been flat out redacted. I was just talking about the books that fell out of favor enough that people just stopped printing them along with the bible. The book of jubalese, the book of enoch, and what we have of the book of giants. That stuff is all pretty crazy.
