Second, even if I grant you that self playing, soundless videos are an entirely different entity, just under a third of the current top 20 are videos with audio.

All the blue links in my screen shot/video are videos, not gif->WebM conversions.

The original argument was whether or not videos were becoming more popular, and the fact is that they definitely are. You're still wrong, and your only argument has either been "you're a newfag" or "videos aren't videos"
Even if you don't include the "HDgifs", videos have gained considerable popularity, even since this initial argument.
It's not like I ever tried to argue they were replacing images, just that they are gaining popularity. It's not a very greedy argument, which makes it very easily provable.


Think of it this way:
5 years ago there were only ever 1 or 2 front page videos per day, at most.
Today there are consistently more than this.
