Animes always make food look obscenely delicious.

Shows like dbz, one piece, pokemon always have high portion and well detailed food that makes real food look **** .

And then the characters in said anime won't stop raving about how god damn delicious it is.

That was kind of the point, your moral compass was supposed to tell you it was wrong to just eat the food like her parents did and that they were stupid for just eating the food like that, but you were still supposed to be enticed by it so in the back of your mind you're thinking "but god that looks delicious!" you had to understand that this food was special and that if she wasn't already so against the idea of being there in the first place she may have succumbed to the desire herself.

The reason anime food usually looks so good is because it's usually food from multiple nations packed into one dish and well they pick the most attractive dishes. They also perfectly shape and colour it.

My girlfriend and I really love this movie, we usually watch it atleast two times per year, and every time we do we always order a bunch of different types of food and set it up in front of us before the movie starts.

We don't start eating until this scene starts, one of our few fun "traditions" we like to do together.
