You know, I always thought that police brutality was at least somewhat exaggerated. But I can't say that anymore. The police attempted to arrest this man for breaking up a fight. After he raised his hands up and told them not to touch him, a police officer behind him puts him in an ILLEGAL choke hold and four other officers climb on top of him. for the next 30 seconds you hear him beg to be let up because he can't breathe. Then silence.
When the innocent is murdered by those who are charged with our protection, our protectors can no longer be trusted.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; firefighters and EMT's have my devout respect. Police, on the other hand, have yet to earn and keep it.

Certainly, there are good cops out there, the problem is that there are too many that disregard safety, get drunk off of their own 'power', and generally seem to feel as though they are far superior to everyone else.

I think that most police officers started with wonderful intentions, but that some of them (too many) just lose their way. That's when this sort of tragedy occurs, or worse.

I'd say in my experience that the drunk-on-power thing frequently happens with anyone in a position of authority. You start thinking you can get away with anything, and because no one stops you, you start believing it more and more, pushing the boundaries until you just become a downright god-complexed asshole.

**** the cop in the 99 shirt, he's the one I fault most here, but there is still no reason to jump and arrest him like that.

This was and is completely uncalled for. However, the FACT is he was under arrest for Illegal Sale of Cigarettes, not for 'breaking up some fight'.
You do a disservice for justice by interjecting falsehoods.

From my experiences I've learned the the police isn't here to protect you, it's here to enforce the law.
