The baby was born with one lung and half a heart. They had MRI scans of the heart and wanted to have a 3D copy of it. Unfortunately the 3D printer broke and they used a Google cardboard with an iPhone to look at the scans, which can be done on a normal computer screen too.
The "tech" definitively didn't save her life...

Just to add, the line in the picture (sent her home to die) was immediatly after birth (her twinsister is fine though). She survived for 5 months until the doctors decided to operate her. Very confusing headline and obviously clickbait.
