Guys guys, try this
go into settings on your chrome browser by clicking the icon on the top right of your toolbar. Once there, scroll to the bottom and click advance settings. under advanced settings, uncheck the box that says "use hardware acceleration when available."
that should do the trick.

Thanks for that!
Do you work in technical customer service by any chance?
I ask because of the description you gave..instead of "Settings->Advanced settings" etc. you gave an exact description on where to click.
In my job i often have to guide people the exact same way.
"Click Start"
"Start?"
"The Windows Icon on the bottom left..."
"The Clock you mean?"
"No, the other left..."
Anyway, thank you very much again. I hope it helps.

no problem, friendo!
Actually I've never done that line of work, just somewhat computer savvy. I'm really not the best at giving instructions, haha. Instructables and college papers all help me piece it out there step by step though. Glad to help! just make sure you pay it forward.

Holy **** I was just contemplating making a comment like this but then i scrolled and found this. I have this exact same problem and its been happening for a while. Also if you rewind the video like a second back it will look how it should normally. at least that works for me

Happening to me too.
But only after the 5th or 6th vid in a comp or content+comments.
I assumed it was my rig.

Has been happening for me as well. It started shortly after admin wrote all that javascript to dynamically load videos only when in view. I think he tweeked something afterwards and it caused this.
Someone popular should make a post about this to get it to front page so hopefully it will get fixed!

Hmm. I wonder if everyone's getting it and they're just used to having to either wait or seek the video to the start point.
****** a bitch, especially on these comps.
