>be going to gym to hang out with friends who work there
>we're cleaning machines and reracking weights
>it's noon so no one is there and we are just screwing around when we see someone come in
>it is a guy about 6'2 and almost 400lbs
>he is wearing generic plus sized clothes and has a waterbottle being clutched tightly by both hands
>it's easy to see he is almost ashamed to be in the gym and looks like he'll turn around and run out if a feather drops
>we make eye contact and he freezes like i was a hunter about to gun his dear self down
>"sup bro, what music you want me to put on?"
>gym bro has gone over to him before i can even notice and started pulling him in
>we get the music to his favorite station, help him get stretched and set up a cardio routine for him to slim down a little
>he stuck it out on the machines for hours non stop and we had to make him take breaks
>at 5 the cardio bunnies and juice heads started filing in for their half hour pat on the back
>while i am shuffling through my ipod i look up to see some skinny fat tatted douches laughing at new bro on an elliptical
>before i can make it over there 2 gorillas and a cardio bunny get between the two of them and start to tell skinny fat not to mess with him
>skinny fat panics and leaves but told new bro he should just give up
>i don't care what he might have been, new bro was trying his hardest to the point he couldn't walk to get to his car
>never make fun of someone who is trying

A friend of mine promised to help lose weight, yesterday was my first day. We agreed to get there, and start at four. When I got there I was so ******* nervous because he wasn't there to help me do anything, so I just stood around until twenty after. I finally just got on the treadmill, and set the timer for 20 minutes. I planned on leaving whenever it ran out, but he got there a few minutes before it ran out. His clock is an hour slow, when he got to town he saw the clock where we work he walked in to check his work schedule , and got there as soon as he could, told me he was sorry, and we got on with the workout. We plan on going again on Tuesday, we're both off that day.
TL; DR: It's a hell of a lot easier when you have someone to help you.

Keep it up man, Remember that the time goes on wheter you workout or not, the only differense is that you will have a better life as the time goes by, The pain by running yesterday you wont feel today... Dont stop, trust me, i regret my decision of stoping half an almost a year ago, and now that the time has gone by i could actually have a been in a good shape... better start working out again. : )

I was told that lifting weights won't be enough, that I'd have to do cardio as well. Have any exercises I could do?

Sorry that im late, yeah you should do some high intensity cardio workouts, anything from just combining running and jogging, if you like lifting weights and you are alot on the gym, you coul do a hillclimb on the threadmill! Start easy and in the middle it will be somewhat intense and then it will end easy, should be an option on the threadmill. If you dont like to run/jog or if its really heavy just se the difficult level on low or something. maybe lessening the minutes, after a while 10-15 minutes should be fine. it is important that you get some kind of warmup. if you dont you wont be at your highest! Remember water : p and best of luck!

1. include interval training 2 to 3 times a week
2. 5 to 6 SMALLLLL healthy meals instead of 3 big meals
3. Whenever you think you need a break during your run, you could probably run for a good 5 to 10 seconds more. that last 5 to 10 is the mental block

There's two kinds of fat people. Fat people content with being fat who make excuses and blame heredity or a culture who doesn't accept their extremely unhealthy lifestyle, and those that let the situation get out of hand and are now doing something about it, shouldering the blame and soldiering on.

I hate the first type. One of my sister's friends made fun of me working out and losing weight, saying I was "A rat on culture's fake beauty standard wheel". I was a 19 year old 365 pound asthmatic slowly dying from laziness. I lost over 150 pounds in abotu 13 months and never felt better, while she's still a Hindenburg-class disaster. It's all about waking up from whatever depressed trance you're in and smelling the **** that is your life and deciding you'd rather not smell it anymore. And don't let social anxiety about gyms and such work against you, I bought a cheap elliptical for like 70 bucks, it was a piece of **** but worked for me til I saved up and bought a sweet Schwinn Elliptical.

They may exist, but I've known many fat people in my life and I've only known of those 2. I worked in the wal-mart deli for a while, and it was ridiculous how many people that were 400+ that would get a 5 pound bucket of fried bbq chicken and they'd talk about their health problems, one lady in particular said she has a "slow metabolism that was inherited". That's just a fundemental misunderstanding of how metabolism works. You don't have a set metabolism, it's dictated by your diet and lifestyle.

Fat and happy is great, but they shouldn't act like what they're doing is anything other than slow self-destruction, but considering all life is some form of slow self destruction, if it makes you happy, stuff your craw with fried chicken and soda. That's not what bothers me.

I know what you're saying, when I go on family vacations I go to the local gyms and get a week membership and have to deal with assholes, but if you're serious about a change for about 300ish dollars you can get a decent home setup for both weightlifting and endurance aerobic workouts. I find the elliptical to be the best for seriously heavy people, you set the resistance to max and it feels like you're running uphill through snow, but I lost 90 pounds in the first 6 months, and I was hardly starving myself.

Not standing up for people is default nature. I wouldn't really give anyone **** for it, although it's a constant reminder that most people won't speak up and of bystander apathy and all. It's sad, but most people wouldn't. That is, unless they know each other
