I honestly, don't see the big deal.....I know I'm gonna get **** for this, but I mean, I'm a guy, and I have my ears pierced, and a lot of my friends have tapers/plugs. I've considered getting them stretched a little, but I wouldn't go any larger than like size 8 (They go on a decreasing size scale). But I digress, in my opinion, they don't look too bad (unless they're like ridiculously huge.) and I think its just one of those things that my generation has done to distinguish itself stylistically. Its a choice whether or not you want to get them, and liking a certain style or trend, doesn't have any impact on your intelligence.

You're right, it doesn't have an impact on intelligence.
People that do it are already at the minimum level of stupidity.

"Minimum level of stupidity"? So you're calling them smart? I honestly can't tell if you were giving me a compliment there, or you just failed at trying to be sarcastic.

Ear Holes is to your body what Miley Cyrus is to the music industry - no depth or personality, just pure unadulterated edge, desperate for attention.

You're judging a whole group based on its worst participants. I hate the people who use it as a cry for attention too. But the vast majority of people with stretched ears don't do it for that reason......They just like the look of it, and choose to do it. Its the same with things like tattoos or facial piercings. Yeah, there's some assholes who do it for attention, and because they do that, they're the ones who get publicized, but most people just silently have their plugs because they enjoy the style.

I know plenty of people with tattoos and earplugs (okay not the huge lobes) who work high end jobs. Sectors like webdesign, advertizing agencies etc. have no problems with this at all. Sectors liek banks are conservative and will make a problems out of this, but i don't think those people wanna work in a bank anyway.

I'm a webdeveloper myself and I earn way more than the average job. How the f*ck would it be a job for people who can't do anything else when you have to study at least 3 years for it?

I have one of my ears up at an 8 and its just such a solid size to keep them at and if I have to take it out my ear doesn't look too bad at all. But one thing is, there is such a temptation to go up again to 10 maybe even a 12. But just keep strong hahaha

Just curious, is it ever possible to size down? I've heard stories of people who were at like 4's or even 2's and they stopped wearing any tapers or anything in their ears, and the ears started to close back up. Are these stories true?

Yeah you can but its for people whose ears won't close on their own, most above 00 or when you tear your lobe in half they can fix it.

I've been to a 00 the biggest before you measure by inch, half inch ect.. and they closed up just fine. It depends of how you heal and other factors i guess.

Depends on the person really, My friend had 4's and they closed in a week but then my brother had really small ones and they still haven't shrunk at all and its been 5 months, He's going to have to get them sewn shut. Frankly I think its not worth the risk because when they all reach 40-50 they're going to want to take them out eventually then will most likely have to get surgery to close them up

Uh, yeah, sure. If they have relevant things to say and good ideas to contribute with. I don't think politicians need to be robot-like old men in grey suits with fake teeth. As for a father, well, it's up to them, isn't it? If they do a good job with their kid there's no problem.

Grandfather? My grandfather was a former sailor with tattoos all over him, and I can honestly say I could never have wished for a better grandad. Point is you don't have to conform to the norm entirely to be a good person.

You took the words right out of my mouth, good sir. On another note, your grandfather sounds awesome. My grandfather served in WWII, but he passed away before I was born, and I don't know if he had any tattoos, but there is this one guy at my church who reads at mass, and I think he served in the Marines in either Vietnam or Korea, and he's got like 4 or 5 tattoos just on his arms.
