Well he was in an awful accident between the filming of Episodes 4 and 5 and got very rudimentary 1970's reconstructive surgery on his nose and face to fix this, and I think that may have something to do with it.

Well that was just a random opinion that came out of nowhere. Although to give your point some credit i don't think he was ever considered a heart throb

It was Completely random I know, but I was looking at the content above and remembering that scene were Luke gets his hand cut off and how off putting his face is in that scene.
